Psychology Teachers Conference

Prince George's Community College will sponsor the first Mid-Atlantic Psychology Teachers Conference on Friday. The theme for the conference is "Partnering in the Millennium: Teaching, Learning and Technology." Participants will have an opportunity to discuss teaching strategies, network with colleagues and learn about innovative teaching methods.

Discussion topics will include "Service Learning in Psychology," "Peer Tutoring," "Ways to Help Students Succeed," "Using Portfolios to Help Student Learning" and "Using Lab Experiences in Child Psychology." Speakers will include Jean Ayers, director of clinical concentration at Towson University; Enid Bogle, of the Howard University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences; and James Youniss, of the Catholic University Department of Psychology.

Business and Trade Show

The Prince George's Chamber of Commerce will hold its 19th annual business and trade show, Tradefest '99, Oct. 26 at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt. The event will explore offering old-fashioned customer service with today's marketing and technology concepts to create the service excellence needed to capture market share.
