Retail Computer Company Moves to Virginia Meadows

Micro Computer Retail Solutions moved its corporate headquarters Oct. 1 to the Virginia Meadows Industrial Park from Fairfax County.

The company provides point-of-sale hardware and software for hospitality and retail businesses.

The relocation brings 23 employees to the 5,500-square-foot facility. Company officials said five employees will be hired next year.

Columbia Gas Extends Customer Choice Program

Columbia Gas has announced that its Customer Choice pilot program has been extended until Oct. 1, 2000, giving energy consumers in the state's first choice program more time to pick the energy company they want to use.

Last month, the company received approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission to extend the program for another year. As of Sept. 29, 7,705 customers had signed up for Customer Choice, representing 29 percent of the eligible customers in Columbia Gas of Virginia's northern territory.

There is no fee to participate, and customers may sign up at any time by calling a natural-gas supplier authorized in the program. A list of suppliers is available by calling Columbia Gas of Virginia at 1-800-543-8911. The program is open to the company's 26,500 customers in Manassas, Manassas Park and Culpeper, as well as Fairfax, Fauquier, Greene, Loudoun, Louisa, Madison, Orange and Prince William counties.

New Finance Director And a Promotion at Falcon

Manassas-based Falcon Communications Solutions Inc. announced this week that Gerald G. Pankey has joined the staff as director of finance. Pankey previously served 11 years as vice president of finance and executive vice president of Air Distributing Company of Manassas.

Falcon CEO Creston M. Owen also announced the promotion of Patty Jeney, Falcon's general manager, to vice president of administration.
