The Rev. Victoria Weinstein, 33, has been named minister of Channing Memorial Church in Columbia.
Weinstein was the interim assistant minister of Main Line Unitarian Church in Devon, Pa., for two years. After attending Northwestern University, she taught in Chicago's inner city and in a suburb of St. Paul, Minn., before going into the ministry. She graduated with a master's of divinity degree from Harvard University in 1997.

Harvester Baptist Church in Columbia will host its annual Missions Conference at 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sunday. PREPARING FOR THE GREAT JUBILEE
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Ellicott City is holding a seminar hosted by Father Tom Forrest from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Oct. 21. The seminar will focus on the themes presented by Pope John Paul II for the three years approaching the Great Jubilee.
Forrest, who has served as a Redemptorist priest for 45 years, will discuss how Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Father will lead the church into the next millennium.
