Teacher Accused of Sex Offense
A teacher at Accotink Academy in Springfield was arrested yesterday and charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor after a student said he asked her to perform a sex act.
Fairfax County police said a 13-year-old girl at the school on Tuttle Road made the accusation against Wendell A. Young, 31, of the 4500 block of 23rd Parkway in Temple Hills.
The student alleges that Young approached her sometime in September or October and asked her to perform a sex act, police said. The girl told police that she refused and reported the incident to a parent, who called police, authorities said.
Young met with detectives yesterday and was served with a warrant.
