Why should the voters elect you?

"I get things done. Whether working with individuals in our community or fighting for them in Richmond, I work to ensure that the people I represent have a voice in their government and that their government serves them. I keep in touch with my constituents daily via phone calls, letters, e-mail, a home page, surveys and door-to-door contact. I listen, seek solutions and make a difference. I fought for increased funding for education and transportation, increased penalties for violent criminals and gangs, responsible growth and put more $$$ in your pocket (e.g., car and food tax reductions)."

What would you like voters to know about you?

"I am an energetic, caring leader with a proven record of reaching out to all citizens, speaking out and making our community a better place."

Occupation: Lawyer, Virginia M. Stephens Law Offices.

Elected offices/civic activities: Board member, Prince William Boys & Girls Club; Dale City Civic Association; Prince William County Community Services Board; Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce; VFW Post 1503 Ladies Auxiliary.

Why should the voters elect you?

"Managing growth, making schools safer, decreasing crowding in our schools and traffic congestion and making health care more affordable are my top priorities. I will focus on kitchen table concerns. The state should address the traffic crisis now. Localities need more funding from the state to improve roads, build more schools and improve older ones. We have more school trailers here than anywhere else. We should be able to choose our doctor and make our own medical decisions, not HMO accountants. Our seniors and veterans should also feel secure that their health care needs are taken care of as well."

What would you like voters to know about you?

"My business and community service experience will enable me to effectively serve the residents of Prince William County. I believe results matter."
