Why should the voters elect you?

"I have worked with parents, students and teachers. From this work, and a lot of research, I have solutions to the major problems facing our schools. These solutions have been proven to work and do not require raising taxes. The school system has not solved these problems because it does not use the proven solutions I have found. The many students who are falling behind here in Mason District must become productive members of society, not gang members. These students don't have four years to wait for the right education."

What would you like voters to know about you?

"My everyday job with the Navy helps keep our sailors safe. I enjoy serving people, whether they are sailors or schoolchildren, and I work hard."

Why should the voters elect you?

"I am a 15-year Mason District resident and PTA leader. I have been an active, consistent advocate for parental and community involvement in our public schools. As Mason District School Board member, I voted for additional classrooms, phonics textbooks in our elementary schools and a performance-based bonus for the superintendent. I have been endorsed by the Fairfax Education Association, the Stuart and Annandale Pyramid coordinators and Pyramid PTA officers in their individual capacities. I support a successful education for every child through equity in facilities and instruction, smaller class size and safe schools."

What would you like voters to know about you?

"School boards should be nonpartisan bodies unmotivated by political party affiliation. Our passion should be directed to our educational goals, not our political philosophies."
