The American Lung Association needs volunteers to work as short- and long-term "crew members" for its "Big Ride" across the United States from June 19 through Aug. 5. The bike tour begins in Seattle, passes over the Rocky Mountains, proceeds through the Midwest plains and Mississippi River trail and ends in Washington. The goal of the 3,250-mile journey is to raise funds for the association. Cyclists, who will ride an average of 81 miles a day, will enjoy the support of a "city on wheels" that includes hot catered breakfasts and dinners, rest stops with refreshments, hot showers, gear and bike support and medical support.
