Bowie Center Advances
Plans for the $90 million Bowie New Town Center were approved unanimously Thursday by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. The 94-acre site eventually will include about 850,000 square feet of retail space, including Sears and Hecht's as its anchors and casual clothing retailer Old Navy. The County Council is likely to review the plans and give its final approval, and ground could be broken as soon as the end of February, according to Gary Wagner, the commission's coordinator for the project.
