Prince George's County Department of Family Services' aging services division seeks volunteers to visit seniors in nursing homes and advocate for them. Volunteers will participate in an ombudsman program, which monitors nursing homes for compliance with residents-rights statutes and care quality, and in the resident complaint resolution process. Volunteers will complete a training program and then volunteer four hours a week for a year. Experience working in a health care environment is desirable but not necessary.
