FOUNDING CHURCH MEMBERS HONORED

Christ Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Silver Spring is honoring its charter members and members who belonged to the church in its early years with a service and reception at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

TORCH RALLY TESTIMONIES

Immanuel's Church of Silver Spring will host a service at 7 p.m. Sunday featuring the testimonies of young people who will attend the Torch Rally this weekend at Rock City Church in Baltimore for young Christian martyrs. ROCKVILLE JERUSALEM LECTURE

American Friends of the Israel Exploration Society will present a slide-lecture on the history of Jerusalem at 8 p.m. Tuesday. The lecture will involve a survey of the major Jewish, Roman, Christian and Moslem holy sites of Jerusalem's 3,000-year history. Professor Elizabeth Bloch-Smith, a specialist in archaeology and ancient Jewish history from St. Joseph's University, will speak.

Admission is $5 for members of the society and $7 for nonmembers. Reservations are not required. The lecture will take place at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington, 6125 Montrose Rd., Rockville. For more information, call 301-881-0100.

TEN COMMANDMENTS SERIES

Knox Orthodox Presbyterian Church of Silver Spring will host a series of programs focusing on the Ten Commandments. The first program, "Who Needs God's Law?" will be from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Jan. 14. The evening will begin with a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the program and the dinner is free.
