Calvert County Races

* 7 p.m. Monday -- The League of Women Voters of Calvert County is sponsoring a forum for candidates for Board of Commissioners, Board of Education, sheriff and state delegate at Patuxent High School in Lusby.

* 7 p.m. Tuesday -- The League of Women Voters of Calvert County is sponsoring a forum for candidates for Board of Commissioners, Board of Education, sheriff and state delegate at Calvert High School in Prince Frederick.

* 7 p.m. Wednesday -- The League of Women Voters of Calvert County is sponsoring a forum for candidates for Board of Commissioners, Board of Education, sheriff and state delegate at the Dunkirk firehouse.

* 7 p.m. Friday -- The League of Women Voters of Calvert County and Comcast Cable will present a candidate forum on cable channel 6. The program will include candidates for county commissioner, county sheriff, school board, treasurer, clerk of the Circuit Court, register of wills, judge of the Orphans' Court, state's attorney, state delegate and state senator. The forum will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. next Sunday.

St. Mary's County Races

* 3 to 5 p.m. Monday -- The Democratic Club of St. Mary's County presents a public forum for Democratic candidates at the party's campaign headquarters in the former Griffin Carpet building at 22099 Three Notch Rd. Candidates will make brief statements and then open the floor to questions. Commissioner candidates will go first, followed by state delegate candidates and closing with state Sen. Roy P. Dyson, who is running against Barbara R. Thompson (R).

* 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday -- The League of Women Voters of St. Mary's County will hold a forum at the Leonardtown High School auditorium for candidates running for state senator, state delegate and sheriff. Voters may meet the candidates in the lobby from 6 to 7 p.m. The schedule will be 7 to 7:35, state senator candidates; 7:40 to 8:20, state delegate candidates; 8:25 to 9, sheriff candidates. Each candidate will have one minute for an introductory statement. League members will ask the candidates two questions. Questions submitted by the audience will then be asked.

Governor's Race

* 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday -- Maryland's gubernatorial campaign comes to the fifth annual Charles County Economic Summit. The event, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Commission, will convene at the Greater Waldorf Jaycees Community Center, 3090 Crain Hwy. Those attending must register and pay a $30 fee. A tentative agenda has Democrat lieutenant governor candidate Charles R. Larson standing in for Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. He will speak at 9:45 a.m. Republican Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. is scheduled at 12:50 p.m.
