Joseph E. Ward (R)

Age: 64

Residence: Hunting Ridge.

Education: None given.

Occupation: Engineer.

Elected offices/civic activities: Eagle Scout; St. William of York, Holy Name Society; Knights of Columbus Patapsco No. 1960; Catholic War Veterans No. 736; Baltimore Branch NAACP; Hunting Ridge Community Board; served in U.S. Air Force.

Why should the voters elect you?

"Black Americans in Baltimore have allowed themselves to be taken in and used by the Democratic Party, and it is doing nothing for us. The city is a wreck. Tires are falling off the buses, sewage has contaminated the drinking water, the public schools are terrible and there's at least one murder a day. We need more roads and highway. The Democratic Party is 3 to 1 in Maryland. Maryland has four Republican Congress persons and four Democratic Congress persons. The Democratic party has disenfranchised Howard County and Baltimore County by dividing them up and putting them in with Baltimore."

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"I'll make education reform, crime and improvement a priority, will work to get more federal and military contract work for local companies and be accessible."
