Why should the voters elect you?

"I have the personal skills, professional and community experience to be an effective school board member and a positive influence starting on my first day in office. I have been a PTA and community activist for many years, a Leadership Montgomery graduate and member of the Hispanic Alliance board of directors. I will work for academic excellence, including a high-standards curriculum, effective teacher training and effective student assessment. As an experienced architect, I will help find solutions to our crowded schools and will use my former ESOL student and community involvement experiences to help close the student achievement gap."

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"I was in Seneca Valley High School's first graduating class and married my high school sweetheart. We now have two daughters attending Neelsville Middle School."

Why should the voters elect you?

"I support traditional American values. I believe we need to focus on the fundamentals: English, math, reading and history, with the addition of ethics integrated into each course of study. I believe Montgomery County public schools should institute additional charter schools and a voucher program to increase the choices available to parents and students. I am concerned with the county's deteriorating standardized test scores (and the paucity of such tests). It's unacceptable that a county with the resources we have should not maintain the high level of academic achievement it enjoyed in the past."

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"I am a 28-year county resident; background in computer technology, business management; married, two children who attended both public and private schools in Montgomery County."
