Why should the voters elect you?

"I bring proven leadership, passion, energy and ability to represent our interests in Maryland. I love working for the people and accept challenges to protect our best interests. Successfully worked within government and know where the pressure points are to summon support for actions needed. When five power plant proposals threatened our water and quality of life, I dug in and went to work. As a result of our collective efforts, citizens have a much stronger voice on issues and a better outcome for our community. My proven skills can improve education and growth issues. Vote Baugher for real change!"

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"A natural ability to work within the process with skill, energy and diligence bringing everyone together, achieving optimum results for all issues affecting community life."

Richard B. Weldon Jr. (R)

Age: 44

Residence: Brunswick.

Education: University of Maryland and various Navy technical schools.

Occupation: Frederick County commissioner.

Elected offices/civic activities: Frederick County commissioner, 2001-02; chief operations officer, Frederick, 1999-2001; city administrator, Brunswick, 1994-99; Navy headquarters civilian manager, 1982-94.

Why should the voters elect you?

"As a 17-year resident, I understand the problems facing District 3B. As the only candidate in this race with direct experience managing both city and county governments, I know how to solve these problems. I have demonstrated through work, not words, my ability to cross party lines to build coalitions and consensus. The voters of District 3B deserve a delegate who can begin the important work immediately, and I will be prepared to start work as soon as I get to Annapolis. We cannot afford a delegate who has to learn how to represent us."

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"Everywhere I've been, I have left a legacy of positive, constructive accomplishments. I think my biggest strength is that I listen to my constituents."
