"During my time as president, Charles County adopted a $100 million road construction program to reduce traffic congestion; our economic development program is bringing three projects starting this year with 4,700 high-paying jobs, and we have one of the lowest unemployment rates in Maryland; Charles County's SAT scores rose to sixth in Maryland, resulting in our graduating seniors receiving $20 million in scholarships in 2002; property values rose 11.3 percent during the last reassessment cycle; our median household income is over $60,000, the fourth-highest in Maryland; to reduce crime, we have funded 96 new sheriff's deputies."
