"I worked 23 years at the Charles County Sheriff's Office and have a proven track record as an aggressive and innovative crime fighter. In addition, I have the administrative experience and leadership abilities to eliminate the waste and mismanagement occurring at the sheriff's office and detention center. Working with mall management, I will take a proactive approach in solving the crime-related problems at the mall. Being sheriff requires total dedication and a willingness to serve full time."

Why should the voters elect you?

"Since I took office in 1994, the number of sworn officers for the sheriff's office has grown by more than 50 percent, to 232. These additional officers and the relationships that I have built with community and political leaders have greatly enhanced our ability to fight crime. As a result of our mutual efforts, crime has decreased by 23.4 percent. I am excited about the prospect of combining the talents of our personnel with my vision for the agency to continue to provide the residents of our county with the most professional, responsive and effective law enforcement services in Maryland."

"I am committed to continuing to use my experience, judgment and training to maintain a high quality of life in Charles County."
