Why should the voters elect you?

"The most serious challenge to our county is the lack of effective leadership in Annapolis. We must have leadership that understands that while debate behind closed doors is to be expected, when we walk out on the floor of the House we must present a strong and united voice for our community's agenda if we are going to ever be taken seriously and get a front row seat at the funding table. I am a long-term community activist who is well-known for my ability and commitment to consensus building, coalition building and viable problem solving."

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"Leadership is active listening, learning, facilitating, creating consensus and then engaging our communities in the public process. Leaders are then good stewards of democracy."

Occupation: Science teacher, Seneca Valley High School.

Why should the voters elect you?

"Having been a teacher for 33 years, I know how to work with many different individuals and organizations to achieve established goals and to involve the stakeholders in reaching these goals. One of the problems we have had in Frederick County with our delegation is their lack of willingness to work together as a delegation and to work with other state delegates and senators to achieve positive results for the citizens of Frederick County. I will work with others of many different points of view, will compromise when needed to achieve goals and will be frugal in dealing with finances."

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"I have no individual agenda and I promise the citizens of Frederick County to listen to their needs at the state level."

Why should the voters elect you?

"I believe that straight questions deserve straight answers, and I'm not willing to compromise my beliefs. When I was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 1998, I told voters where I stand on the issues. The voters allowed me the opportunity to serve, and I've taken that commitment seriously. Over the past four years, I have kept my word while working for my constituents. My promise is very simple: I will continue to fight for less government, less taxation and more individual freedom."

What would you like the voters to know about you?

"I am a lifelong resident of Frederick County and an educated professional. My wife and I own a business, and we meet a payroll."
