ROBBERIES

EDSON PARK PL., 11200 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 23. Two youths at an apartment accosted a 60-year-old man at gunpoint, forced their way into the man's apartment and robbed him of cash.

MACARTHUR BLVD., 7300 block, 7:33 p.m. Oct. 15. A gunman in a pharmacy ordered a clerk to hand over cash from a register. The clerk complied and the robber fled on foot.

ROSS RD., 2400 block, 8 p.m. Oct. 22. A youth with a handgun robbed a 36-year-old Kensington man of cash, then fled with another boy who had been standing nearby.

WISCONSIN AVE., 1 to 100 block, 9 p.m. Oct. 21. A youth with a handgun robbed a 22-year-old D.C. man of cash, got into a vehicle and fled on Western Avenue toward Connecticut Avenue.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BURNING TREE CT., 1 to 100 block, 2 a.m. Oct. 19. Cash, credit cards and a wallet were stolen from a residence entered through an open window.

GLENWOOD RD., 5600 block, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Oct. 9. A residence was entered by prying a side window frame. Nothing was reported stolen.

LOCH LOMOND DR., 7100 block, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 18. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by prying a door.

LONGWOOD AREA, 2 a.m. Oct. 19. A 79-year-old woman awoke in her residence and realized a a male was blocking her view of a clock. The intruder moved and she tried to call 911 but the telephone was not working. The woman discovered that her purse was stolen and the male burglar had entered the residence through a ground-floor window.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 11300 block, 10 p.m. Oct. 18 to 10 a.m. Oct. 19. Cash, video-game systems and games were stolen from a toy store entered through an unlocked rear door.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 11400 block, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11 to 8:50 a.m. Oct. 15. Cash was stolen from an office.

SINNOT DR., 10000 block, 11 p.m. Oct. 21 to 1:45 p.m. Oct. 22. A DVD player, DVDs and a stereo were stolen from a residence entered by prying a door.

WISCONSIN AVE., 7940 block, 2:12 a.m. Oct. 21. Liquor was stolen from a cafe{acute} entered by breaking a window.

GERMANTOWN DISTRICT

ROBBERIES

DAMASCUS AND ANNAPOLIS ROCK ROADS, 4:15 a.m. Oct. 12. A small white van veered in front of the vehicle of a 27-year-old male motorist and forced him to pull over, while a second vehicle pulled up behind the motorist's vehicle. A man with a black pistol got out of the van and ordered the motorist to get out of his vehicle, then hit him and took cash from his pockets. A second man got out of the van, carrying what appeared to be a rifle, and ransacked the motorist's glove box. Both men re-entered the van and drove off.

SLIDELL RD., 21500 block, 4 a.m. Oct. 20. A 74-year-old woman was awakened by a noise in her home, investigated and found three people inside the residence. The intruders forced the woman to lie on the floor and demanded cash. She complied and the robbers fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BIG WOODS RD., 21900 block, 9:30 a.m. Oct. 9 to 8:30 a.m. Oct. 10. Tools were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a basement door.

CRYSTAL HILL CIR., 20700 block, 9:55 a.m. to 9:37 p.m. Oct. 8. A TV, a DVD player and a camera were stolen from a residence.

DAMASCUS RD., 4600 block, 2:30 p.m. Oct. 13 to 4 p.m. Oct. 14. A TV was stolen from a shed at a residence, entered by opening a shed door.

DUHART RD., 13500 block, 11:30 p.m. Oct. 15 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 16. A purse was stolen from a residence entered by opening a sliding glass door.

FREDERICK RD., 21000 block, 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 12. A man in a restaurant claimed to have lost a contact lens and pretended to search for it near a 72-year-old male customer. After the man said he had found the lens and left the restaurant, the customer realized his wallet was missing, apparently stolen by an accomplice standing nearby during the contact lens "search." One of the cards was later used at a nearby department store and a home improvement store.

LAYTONSVILLE RD., 6550 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 23 to 6:45 a.m. Oct. 24. Cash, a safe and a computer were stolen from a country club entered by prying a window.

OPEN HEARTH WAY, 13000 block, 8:10 a.m. to 4:55 p.m. Oct. 18. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

PINE RIDGE LANE, 18900 block, 1:30 p.m. Oct. 19. A residence was entered by climbing through a window. Nothing was reported stolen.

WISTERIA DR., 13020 block, 11:50 to 11:59 p.m. Oct. 13. Cash and a cash register were stolen from a trading card shop entered by breaking through a front door.

GAITHERSBURG DISTRICT

ASSAULTS

CHADBURN PL., 9200 block, 7:10 p.m. Oct. 11. A person driving an older model Ford pulled up on the right side of a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Gaithersburg man and the Ford driver fired several shots from a black gun. Three shots hit the vehicle.

DEER PARK RD. W., 1 to 100 block, 7:50 p.m. Oct. 23. A shirtless man and another man kicked and hit an Upper Marlboro man, 21, and struck him with beer bottles.

DIAMOND AVE. E., 200 block, Oct. 17. A Martinsburg, W. Va., man, 38, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault in connection with a reported bar fight at the above location.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE AVENUE, 9:41 p.m. Oct. 14. Two men in a bar began arguing and one man put the other, a 30-year-old Washington man, in a neck hold, causing him to lose consciousness for a few minutes. The attacker and another person fled in a white Ford F-150 truck.

ROBBERIES

CHURCHILL DOWNS RD., 8500 block, 12:35 p.m. Oct. 17. Two men wearing ski masks climbed through an open window at a residence and tied up a male resident, 34, at gunpoint. The intruders took cash, a cell phone and a video recorder and fled.

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18300 block, 8:45 p.m. Oct. 26. One of two men asked for the time from a man, 39, parking his car, then pulled out a silver handgun, pointed it at the man and robbed him of his wallet and cell phone.

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18200 block, 4:20 p.m. Oct. 27. A man in a mini-market asked for cigarettes, then ordered a clerk to give him cash from a register and showed a revolver in his waistband. The clerk turned over cash from the register and the robber fled.

LOST KNIFE RD., 18200 block, 9:25 p.m. Oct. 23. A man, 27, was forced to the ground by four or five males, and his wallet was snatched from his hand.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CHESLEY KNOLL DR., 19500 block, 11 p.m. Oct. 10 to 4 p.m. Oct. 13. Tools were stolen from a residence entered through a garage.

DEER PARK RD. W., 1-100 block, noon Oct. 11 to 12:15 a.m. Oct. 13. DVDs and a CD-tape-player stereo were stolen from a residence.

FREDERICK AVE. S., 500 block, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 18. A laptop computer was stolen from a residence entered by prying a door.

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18300 block, 11:30 p.m. Oct. 3 to 6:30 a.m. Oct. 4. Cash, a vehicle, a computer and a cell phone were stolen from a residence entered through a rear window.

RIDGELINE DR., 10300 block, 12:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19. A TV, a computer and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked sliding glass door.

WATKINS MILL RD., 100 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 13 to 3:18 a.m. Oct. 14. A computer was stolen from a residence entered through a rear sliding door.

WEST SIDE DR., 800 block, 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 23. A video-game system, DVDs and an electric guitar were stolen from a residence entered by prying a window.

FREDERICK AVE. N., 200 block, 1:10 a.m. Oct. 19. A man entered an unlocked door at a pancake restaurant, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash. A restaurant employee wrestled the man back out the door and the robber fled empty-handed.

CAPRI PL., 6800 block, 12:45 to 1:26 p.m. Oct. 24. A front door at a residence was pried. Nothing was reported stolen.

CARTWRIGHT WAY, 14300 block, 7:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26. Beverages were stolen from a residence entered through a garage door.

PARAMUS DR., 11500 block, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 26. Cash was stolen from a residence entered through a sliding glass back door.

PLATINUM DR., 14200 block, 6 to 7:15 p.m. Oct. 27. Handbags were stolen from a residence entered through a garage.

STAPLEFORD HALL DR., 10700 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 19 to 2:43 a.m. Oct. 20. A front door at a residence was kicked. Nothing was reported stolen.

STONEY CREEK RD., 11700 block, 3:30 a.m. Oct. 19. A front door frame at a residence was broken. Nothing was reported stolen.

VEIRS MILL RD., 12500 block, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17. Cash and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by shimming a lock in a sliding glass door.

VILLAGE SQUARE TER., 12500 block, 4 p.m. Oct. 25 to 11:45 p.m. Oct. 27. Cash and videotapes were stolen from a residence entered through a rear window.

SILVER SPRING DISTRICT

ASSAULTS

BEACH DRIVE AND KNOWLES AVENUE, 11 p.m. Oct. 9. A man in a Dodge Caravan pulled alongside a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Silver Spring man. The man in the van got out of his vehicle, pulled out a knife and shouted at the motorist and his passengers. The motorist drove away and the van driver threw a beer bottle, a milk carton and a board at the man's vehicle.

LOCKWOOD DRIVE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE AVENUE, 11:35 p.m. Oct. 31. A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man riding on a Metrobus with an adult female friend had an argument with a teenage boy. The adults got off the bus in the 11300 block of Lockwood Dr. and began to walk westbound, toward New Hampshire Avenue. The boy on the bus got off at the next stop and ran back toward the three adults, firing a handgun as he ran. Both men were shot. The woman was unharmed. The boy fled on foot. After a police lookout was placed, a 16-year-old boy was stopped nearby by uniformed police officers. The men were transported to a local hospital. An investigation is continuing.

ROBBERIES

DOMER AVE., 500 block, 2:07 a.m. Oct. 26. One of two youths knocked on the driver's side window of a van occupied by three people and asked for a cigarette, then demanded cash and fired two shots into the van window. Two van occupants were injured. Nothing was reported taken.

DOWNS DR., 700 block, 11 p.m. Oct. 27. An 88-year-old woman asleep in a living room chair was awakened by the sound of breaking glass in the kitchen. A man said, "If you get up, I'll hurt you. Don't look at me." He then walked through the house for 15 minutes removing property.

FOX STREET AND NEW HAMPSHIRE AVENUE, 2 a.m. Oct. 11. A man with a sawed-off shotgun got out of a van, robbed a 20-year-old Hyattsville man of his wallet, then ran back to the vehicle, which had two other males inside, and the trio fled toward Prince George's County.

HAMPSHIRE WEST CT., 1500 block, 8:35 p.m. Oct. 26. Three men accosted an 18-year-old man, who was hit in an eye, receiving a cut. The man was forced to the ground and robbed of cash and a cell phone.

PINEY BRANCH ROAD AND FLOWER AVENUE, 7:27 p.m. Oct. 26. A man grabbed a purse from a 64-year-old woman as she waited at a bus stop, then fled to a vehicle at Manchester Road.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 2600 block, Oct. 17. A fight and a robbery occurred. A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested and charged with second-degree assault, strong-arm robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. The boy also was charged with giving false information to a police officer.

BRADFORD RD., 8700 block, 9:20 a.m. Oct. 16. A knob on a front door at a residence was pried. Nothing was reported stolen.

CARROLL AVE., 8100 block, 6 p.m. Oct. 25 to 9 a.m. Oct. 26. A computer was stolen from a school entered by prying a door frame.

CASTLE BLVD., 14100 block, 4 p.m. Oct. 11. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported stolen.

CHERRY HILL RD., 11450 block, 11:30 p.m. Oct. 25 to 8:20 a.m. Oct. 26. Cash was stolen from a restaurant entered by breaking glass in a front door.

CHERRY HILL RD., 11400 block, 9:30 p.m. Oct. 15 to 8:15 a.m. Oct. 16. Cash, a cash register, computers, phone cards, a CD player, clothing and lipstick were stolen from a hair salon and a dollar store, entered by forcing front doors.

CHERRY HILL RD., 11450 block, 9:30 p.m. Oct. 15 to 8:15 a.m. Oct. 16. Cash, a cash register, a safe, a computer, phone cards and videos were stolen from an international food store entered by forcing a front door.

CLIFTON RD., 13100 block, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25. A CD player and a tool were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a side door.

DINO DR., 15220 block, 2:26 a.m. Oct. 27. Cash was stolen from a self-storage business entered by forcing a front door.

EASTERN DR., 8000 block, 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Oct. 17. Cash, jewelry and stereo equipment were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

ELTON RD., 1730 block, 8 p.m. Oct. 24 to 6:45 a.m. Oct. 25. Computers were stolen from a mortgage company office entered by prying a frame.

GEORGIA AVE., 9320 block, 3 p.m. Oct. 14 to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 15. A business was entered by breaking through a display window. Nothing was reported stolen.

HARLEQUIN TER., 2000 block, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 15. A shotgun, cash, jewelry and a video-game system were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 11700 block, 11:30 a.m. Oct. 26 to 7:20 a.m. Oct. 28. An attempt was made to enter an apartment complex office.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 15410 block, 9 to 9:24 p.m. Oct. 27. Cash and a safe were stolen from a tire and auto business entered by forcing a front door.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8600 block, 5 p.m. Oct. 16 to 8 a.m. Oct. 17. Power tools were stolen from an apartment complex.

SHEPPERTON TER., 3000 block, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 14. A residence was entered by breaking a sliding glass door. Nothing was reported stolen.

SOUTHWEST DR., 300 block, Oct. 16. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

16TH ST., 8500 block, 8 to 8:25 a.m. Oct. 17. Cash and lottery tickets were stolen from a market entered by climbing in a roof vent.

CATALINA TER., 11400 block, 9 p.m. Oct. 9. A food delivery person was punched by two males who took the food and drove away in what was later determined to be a stolen vehicle.

BRIGHTON DAM RD., 100 block, 4 p.m. Oct. 5 to 11:15 a.m. Oct. 6. An air-compressor, an air hose and tools were stolen from a residence entered by prying a lock.

BUCKNELL DR., 10900 block, 4 to 7 a.m. Oct. 9. A video camera was stolen from a residence entered by prying a window screen in a family room.

FLINT ROCK RD., 13700 block, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 23. A bicycle was stolen from a residence entered by climbing through an open pet door.

FRANKFORT DR. W., 4600 block, 9:48 to 9:52 p.m. Oct. 8. A middle school was entered by forcing a front door. Nothing was reported stolen.

GEORGIA AVE., 10800 block, 4 to 7 a.m. Oct. 9. A video-game system and games, a DVD player and a receiver were stolen from a residence entered by prying a screen.

INNSBROOK CT., 14400 block, 5:40 p.m. Oct. 18. A residence was entered by climbing through a ceiling. Nothing was reported stolen.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 15520 block, 7 p.m. Oct. 7 to 7 a.m. Oct. 8. Cash and a cash register were stolen from a dry-cleaning business entered by smashing a front door.

PEREGOY DR., 2800 block, 11 p.m. Oct. 12 to 8:30 a.m. Oct. 13. Computers, TVs, a video-game system, telephones and a bicycle were stolen from a residence entered through a window.

RAMPART WAY, 10900 block, 5 a.m. Oct. 9. An attempt was made to enter a residence. Nothing was reported stolen.

ASSAULTS

MARYLAND AVE., 100 block, 1:25 p.m. Oct. 26. A Gaithersburg man, 27, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer, in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 200 block, 9:07 p.m. Oct. 21. A Rockville woman, 20, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, in connection with an incident at the above location.

SOUTHLAWN CT., 1 to 100 block, 12:15 a.m. Oct. 25. A Gaithersburg boy, 17, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and possession of a concealed deadly weapon, in connection with an incident at the above location.

STONESTREET AVE. N., 600 block, 10:44 p.m. Oct. 22. A man, 49, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and a boy, 16, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at the above location.

ROBBERIES

MANNAKEE ST., 1 to 100 block, 12:20 p.m. Oct. 21. Two men, one wearing a black mask, in a restroom asked a male for cash. He refused and tried to leave but one of the robbers moved in front of the restroom door and punched him on the side of the face three times. A friend waiting outside heard the male calling for him and forced his way into the restroom, but the assailants left the restroom and fled. Nothing was reported taken.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COLLEGE PKWY., 400 block, 3:15 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 24. A video console, computer-memory cards, an electronic control switch and a movie were stolen from a residence.

COLLEGE PKWY., 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27. A BB handgun, cash, a TV and food items were stolen from a residence entered by prying a sliding glass back door.

DENFIELD RD., 5700 block, 6 to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 25. A VCR and two sets of speakers were stolen from a vehicle.

GUDE DR. W., 1-100 block, 3:30 p.m. Oct. 15. A wallet was stolen from an office.

HUNGERFORD DR., 300 block, 7 a.m. Oct. 16 to 7 a.m. Oct. 17. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

HUNGERFORD DR., 900 block, 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 to 7:21 a.m. Oct. 21. Two projectors and a laptop computer were stolen from a conference room in a building, entered by dislodging a pane of glass in an interior conference room door. Cash from a coin-operated machine in a cafeteria area adjacent to the conference room also was stolen.

MANNAKEE ST., 1-100 block, 12:20 to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 15. A purse was stolen from an office and later recovered in an adjacent office.

MANNAKEE ST., 1-100 block, 3 p.m. Oct. 16. A purse was stolen from a room.

MONROE ST., 1 to 100 block, 5:51 p.m. Oct. 26 to 7:36 a.m. Oct. 27. A laptop computer was stolen from a business entered by prying a front door.

RESEARCH CT., 1 to 100 block, 6:50 p.m. Oct. 22. A man was seen prying doors to a vending machine and emptying the cash inside the machine into a red bag.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1700 block, 2 a.m. Oct. 26. A Gaithersburg man, 22, was arrested and charged with theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1200 block, 3:15 p.m. Oct. 16. A theft occurred. A 35-year-old man was arrested.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1700 block, 2 a.m. Oct. 26. A Gaithersburg man, 22, was arrested and charged with theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

SOUTHLAWN CT., 1 to 100 block, 9:45 to 11:10 p.m. Oct. 25. A purse containing cash, a hand-held computer, a checkbook, credit cards and a driver's license was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking the front passenger window.

SOUTHLAWN LANE, 14600 block, 12:45 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14. A lawn mower was stolen from the back of a truck.

TWINBROOK PKWY., 12900 block, 6:50 p.m. Oct. 22. A wallet was stolen from a gym bag.

WASHINGTON ST. N., 200 block, 9:29 a.m. Oct. 22. A 31-year-old Potomac woman was arrested and charged with theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

Takoma Park

ROBBERIES

HOUSTON AVE., 600 block, 2:50 p.m. Oct. 25. A man at an apartment building forced a woman to the ground as she was entering the building, placed what she believed to be a handgun to her head and demanded her car keys. He then grabbed the keys from her hand and tried to drive off in the vehicle. The woman screamed and called police, and the man got out of the car and walked away. The woman was injured.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1100 block, midnight Oct. 23. A male spoke to a male pedestrian, hit him and forced him to the ground. The attacker then took property from the man's pockets. No injuries were reported.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

HOUSTON CT., 8200 block, Oct. 26. A boy was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and theft under $500.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

COLE AVE., 7800 block, 2 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20. An unlocked 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

GARLAND AVE., 7300 block, 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18. An attempt was made to steal a 1997 Dodge Intrepid. The vehicle ignition and steering column were damaged in the attempt.

GENEVA AVE., 8 p.m. Oct. 29 to 8 a.m. Oct. 30. An attempt was made to steal an unlocked 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity. The vehicle ignition was damaged and property was reported missing from the vehicle.

HOUSTON AVE., 600 block, 10:30 p.m. Oct. 25 to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 26. A 2000 Nissan Altima was stolen.

LARCH AVE., 800 block, 10 p.m. Oct. 26 to 5:25 a.m. Oct. 26. A 1987 Cadillac Fleetwood was stolen.

MAPLE AVE., 7700 block, 9 p.m. Oct. 18 to 8:45 a.m. Oct. 19. A 1989 Toyota Camry was stolen.
