These are among the next generation of standout players in Prince George's County:

* Tim Chialastri, High Point: The 6-foot-2 junior averaged 9.5 points, 3 assists and 2 steals per game last season and could be the county's best outside shooter this season. The Eagles certainly hope so, as they lost their top three players from last season -- who produced a combined 49 points per game -- to graduation.

* Sean Jennings, Suitland: The 6-1 senior point guard averaged 12.6 points, 6 assists and 4 steals per game last season and will be counted on to increase his scoring after Roland Harris (19.7 ppg) graduated last spring.

* Robert Shannon, Oxon Hill: The 6-3 guard is the first freshman to make the school's varsity team in five years, and Coach Billy Lanier said Shannon's "great athleticism should allow him to help out right away."

* Antonio Smith, Riverdale Baptist: The 6-5 junior forward played in just six varsity games and averaged just 1.8 points per game last season, but is the team's lone junior in this year's starting lineup.

* Sam Young, Friendly: The 6-5 junior forward is widely regarded by coaches as one of the 3A/2A/1A league's top players after averaging 7.6 points and five rebounds per game last season.

High Point junior Tim Chialastri, one of county's best shooters, averaged 9.5 points, 3 assists and 2 steals per game last season.
