* Coach: Will Robinson (15th year, 276-70)

* Last season: 19-6, 6-0 (lost to Cave Spring, 69-52, in Northwestern Region semifinals).

* Returning starters/letter winners: 3/7.

* Outlook: Woodbridge kept lofty company last season, knocking off USA Today-ranked Laurinburg (N.C.) and falling to eventual state champion Cave Spring, with Duke-bound J.J. Redick, in the Northwestern Region semifinals.

With 18 wins or more for a dozen consecutive seasons, Woodbridge this winter will aim for its first state tournament berth since 1992-93. In doing so, the Vikings again will rain three-pointers, adding to their total of 311 treys the past two seasons combined. Juniors Daniel Fountain (50 threes) and Chris Kendall (21) are two of the team's many long-range specialists.

"We don't have the post presence we usually have, but we'll be a little bit quicker and extend the court a little bit more and continue to bomb away," said Robinson, who is homing in on his 300th career win at Woodbridge.

Sophomore point guard Andre Bratton has been slowed by an ankle sprain suffered during football season and is just now working his way into form. Hayfield transfer David Walker will lend back-court depth, and transfer Kevin Hunter averaged 11.3 ppg a year ago at Colonial Forge.
