YOUTH SKIING TRIP, for middle and high school students, 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 27, a trip to Ski Liberty for skiing and snowboarding, school bus or van departure from the Long Gate Park and Ride lot, Route 100 and Long Gate Parkway, Ellicott City. $100, includes ski rental; $73 without ski rental; preregistration required. 410-313-7275.

COLUMBIA NEW YEAR'S WALKS, for all ages, noncompetitive 5K and 10K walks, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, sponsored by Freestate Happy Wanderers Walking Club, walks start between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and finish by 4 p.m., Owen Brown Community Center, 6800 Cradlerock Way, Columbia. SENIORS SPY MUSEUM TRIP, for ages 55 and older, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 24, a trip to Washington for a self-guided tour of the new International Spy Museum, with displays about stories behind the spy business; lunch on your own at the museum's Spy City Cafe or at a nearby restaurant; wear comfortable shoes; call for departure points in Howard County. $30; preregistration required. 410-313-7279.
