* Repeat All-Extra pick, chosen at DB last year, led Bulldogs to Virginia AAA Division 6 state title by rushing for 1,251 yards and scoring 20 touchdowns.

* Threw for 222 yards and three scores and caught four passes, and had a hand in 18 of his team's final 24 touchdowns this season.

* In secondary, made 40 tackles and intercepted four passes.

Defensive

Player of the Year

LB Endor Cooper, Hylton

6-1, 185, Junior

* Spearheaded defense that shut out eight opponents and allowed 50 points.

* Was in on 143 tackles, including 11 for losses, with 4.5 sacks, four caused fumbles, three recoveries and nine quarterback pressures.

* Rushed for three touchdowns.

Coach of the Year

* In first year with Bulldogs, guided team to Virginia AAA Division 6 state championship, the program's third in five years, following up the Division 5 state title he won at Culpeper in 1999.

* Blended philosophies and coaching staffs from Culpeper and Hylton and took over team that returned seven starters and had lost a state hall of fame coach in Bill Brown and the national defensive player of the year in Ahmad Brooks.

* Steered Bulldogs to fifth consecutive Northwestern Region title and has compiled a 76-11 record the past seven years.

QB Jeff Overton, Hylton, 5-8, 165, Sr. -- Offensive Player of the Year.

QB Doug Suliga, Osbourn Park, 6-0, 185, Sr. -- In first year as full-time starter, threw for 904 yards and seven touchdowns and rushed for 223 yards and five scores for Division 6 Northwestern Region finalists.

RB Wes Basham, Brentsville, 6-0, 185, Jr. -- Punishing north-south runner totaled 888 yards and 10 touchdowns in carrying the Tigers to a Division 2 Region B playoff berth.

RB Roland Hilliard, Osbourn Park, 5-8, 175, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra pick and Cedar Run District offensive player of the year piled up 1,436 yards and 14 touchdowns, giving him a two-year rushing total of almost 3,000 yards.

RB Rasheed McClaude, Gar-Field, 6-0, 190, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra pick and Cardinal District offensive player of the year rushed 229 times for 1,484 yards and 14 touchdowns.

RB Elihu Smith, Gar-Field, 5-10, 175, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra pick quarterbacked Indians to 7-4 record by rushing 163 times for 999 yards and eight touchdowns; also threw for 296 yards and three scores.

WR Andrew Dykstra, Osbourn Park, 6-1, 180, Jr. -- Area's top receiver caught 32 passes -- almost half his team's total -- for 360 yards and three touchdowns.

OL Tyler Dean, Osbourn Park, 5-11, 280, Sr. -- Two-way standout helped lead team to school-best 10-2 record, with both losses to state champion Hylton.

OL Flordell Kissee, Gar-Field, 6-4, 315, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra tackle and first-team All-Met has received scholarship offers from Maryland and N.C. State, among others.

OL Jono Petrovitch, Hylton, 6-0, 235, Sr. -- With a firm grasp on the principles of leverage, repeat All-Extra pick was Bulldogs' "pancake block" specialist and key two-way player.

OL Clint Sintim, Gar-Field, 6-2, 250, Jr. -- Two-way standout helped pave way for attack that amassed more than 2,700 rushing yards this season.

OL Zak Stair, Osbourn Park, 6-5, 280, Jr. -- Equally adept at pass protection and run blocking, was vital component on unit that totaled almost 3,000 yards.

OL Mo Steward, Gar-Field, 6-3, 270, Sr. -- Ivy League recruit played guard, tackle and center, his natural position.

First-Team Defense

DL R.J. Dawson, Hylton, 5-11, 275, Sr. -- Was in on 87 stops, including nine for losses, and recorded 13 quarterback pressures, three sacks, two caused fumbles and one interception.

DL Clark Lanzendorf, Osbourn Park, 6-5, 282, Sr. -- Made 45 tackles and recovered a fumble to help Yellow Jackets notch seven shutouts.

DL Richard Terrell, Osbourn Park, 6-2, 180, Sr. -- Northwestern Region defensive player of the year totaled 86 tackles and two fumble recoveries.

DL Chris Winston, Hylton, 6-0, 250, Jr. -- Sidelined by late-season injuries, repeat All-Extra pick was in on 43 tackles, including 10 for losses.

DL Sam Wright, Manassas Park, 6-3, 230, Jr. -- Often being double-teamed, co-Bull Run District defensive player of the year accumulated more than 70 tackles and recovered three fumbles.

LB Endor Cooper, Hylton, 6-1, 185, Jr. -- Defensive Player of the Year.

LB James Parker, Hylton, 5-9, 175, Jr. -- Made 116 tackles, including 10 for losses, with five sacks, five caused fumbles and an interception.

LB James Terry, Woodbridge, 6-2, 220, Sr. -- Cardinal District defensive player of the year totaled 84 tackles in eight games, with four forced fumbles and three recoveries; also rushed for 914 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 13 passes for 189 yards. Committed to Virginia.

LB Jackie Watkins, Hylton, 6-1, 225, Jr. -- Bulldogs' leading tackler (156) dropped nine ballcarriers for losses and picked off two passes, including one in the state championship.

DB Deon Butler, Hylton, 5-10, 150, Jr. -- Made 65 tackles, with four interceptions, nine pass breakups and two blocked kicks.

DB Darren Garrigan, Gar-Field, 5-9, 175, Sr. -- Repeat All-Extra pick intercepted three passes and made 41 tackles, including five for losses.

DB Shaune Hammond, Quantico, 5-7, 180, Sr. -- Intercepted four passes and made 36 tackles for state independent school playoff qualifiers; offensively, he did not fumble in 293 touches and rushed for 1,415 yards and 18 touchdowns.

DB Price Ward, Manassas Park, 5-10, 160, Sr. -- Led Division 1 Region B finalists with more than 100 tackles and was also Bull Run District offensive player of the year (941 rushing yards, 17 catches).

P Bobby Collier, Brentsville, 5-11, 190, Jr. -- Averaged 39 yards per attempt for Bull Run District tri-champions and helped Tigers win field position battle with his directional punting.
