Stonewall's IB Program

Stonewall Jackson High School will hold an information session at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16 for eighth-graders and parents who are interested in the International Baccalaureate program.

Students in the Brentsville, Osbourn Park and Stonewall districts who complete grade 8 with an average of C or higher are eligible for the program.

Stonewall Jackson has been an authorized IB school since 1993.

Healthy Start to New Year

The Continuing Education Office of Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas is offering two-hour seminars to help people fulfill their New Year resolutions.

On Jan. 18, "Do I Have to Join a Gym?" will offer advice from a trainer on how to do cardiovascular and resistance workouts at home with little equipment.

The Jan. 25 session will cover exercising safely. Participants will create an exercise program that can be completed in as little as 30 minutes a day.

Diets to maximize health will be discussed at the Feb. 1 "Healthy Eating" session.

Each session costs $39.
