HOMICIDES

L ST., 1800 block, 5 p.m. Dec. 28. Antwan Simons, 20, of the 800 block of Southern Avenue SE, was found on a street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:40 p.m.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

IRVING ST., 100 block, 9:12 p.m. Dec. 29. A man allegedly raped a person in a medical facility.

POLK ST., 8 a.m. Dec. 22 to 11:59 p.m. Dec. 24. A male relative sexually assaulted a female infant in a residence.

21ST ST. AND BENNING RD., 12:30 a.m. Jan. 2. A man driving a red vehicle pulled up to a female pedestrian and asked if she wanted a ride and $15. He then forced her into the vehicle, drove her to an unidentified location and sexually assaulted her.

ROBBERIES

BENNING RD., 1500 block, Jan. 28. Two people with knives took a purse from a female pedestrian waiting at a bus stop. The pedestrian was stabbed on the hand, and the assailants fled.

BENNING RD., 4400 block, 5:15 to 5:30 a.m. Dec. 30. A male pulled a mask over his face and demanded money at gunpoint from a male pedestrian. The pedestrian said he didn't have any money, and the gunman snatched his backpack and fled.

BENNING RD., 4500 block, 8:55 to 8:57 p.m. Dec. 29. A male stabbed a cabdriver in the back with a small knife after he and a male teenager approached the cabdriver at a gas station and demanded property. They fled empty-handed.

BROOKS ST., 4400 block, 8:35 p.m. Dec. 31. A man with a handgun and a male teenager asked a person getting into his car if he had any money, then took his car.

DIX ST., 6200 block, 9 a.m. Jan. 1. A man with a semiautomatic took cash from a male pedestrian and fled in a white four-door Chevrolet Caprice.

EASTERN AVE., 300 block, 9:55 p.m. Dec. 29. Five people wearing ski masks entered an employees' area of a restaurant after a female employee unlocked a door to pass a pizza to a customer. One robber held a semiautomatic to the head of the employee and demanded money from a cash register. They took her purse, cash and credit cards.

F ST., 200 block, between 8:22 p.m. Dec. 29. Four male teenagers took money from a male pedestrian and fled.

KENDALL ST., 1800 block, Dec. 28. A man with a handgun took credit cards from a person.

KENDALL ST., 1900 block, 2:50 a.m. Dec. 28. A man robbed a pedestrian of property at gunpoint. A 21-year-old man was arrested.

MINNESOTA AVE., 3700 block, 3 p.m. Dec. 31. J. A man with a silver handgun forced a passenger out of a vehicle and took the car. After an accident and a foot chase, a 23-year-old man was arrested.

FIRST ST., 1000 block, 5:30 to 6 p.m. Dec. 28. A person bumped into a female at a transportation terminal and snatched property from her purse.

THIRD AND ADAMS STREETS, 7:45 p.m. Jan. 2. Two males demanded money from a malepedestrian, pushed him against a fence and knocked him down. He was then stabbed in the leg and robbed of cash and an ID.

FOURTH ST., 800 block, 5:25 a.m. Dec. 31. Three men, two with handguns, demanded money and struggled with a pedestrian after he told them he had none. They took his wallet, glasses and other property and fled.

FOURTH ST., 5100 block, 1:30 p.m. Jan. 2. A male drove a car up to a female pedestrian, snatched her purse and drove away.

SIXTH AND K STREETS, 5:15 a.m. Dec. 31. Three males got out of a car, and one demanded money from a pedestrian and lunged twice with a knife. Another assailant struck the pedestrian in the head with a crowbar. The robbers then fled empty-handed.

10TH ST., 1000 block, 2 p.m. Dec. 30. A male held a handgun to the head of a male working on a car and demanded keys. When told the car was someone else's, the gunman and an accomplice chased another person to a residence, where they forced a door open, and the person was shot once in the leg. The robbers fled empty-handed.

11TH ST., 5200 block, 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31. A male with a handgun took a wallet, cell phone and papers from a pedestrian and fled.

16TH ST. AND BENNING RD., 10:05 p.m. Dec. 27. A male teenager shouted "Give it up" at a male pedestrian outside a carryout restaurant. When the pedestrian turned around, the boy and another male teenager lunged at him, and one stabbed him on the arm. The assailants fled empty-handed.

16TH ST. AND BENNING RD., 1 a.m. Dec. 27. Two males, one with a shotgun, took a jacket, keys, food and cash from two pedestrians and fled.

49TH ST., 800 block, 3:10 to 3:15 p.m. Dec. 26. A male teenager told a male pedestrian to "Take off your jersey." When the pedestrian hesitated, another youth pulled out a handgun and took the jersey and a cell phone. Both robbers then fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CAPITOL AVE., 1900 block, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 1. A refrigerator, a VCR and a telephone were stolen from a residence entered by removing a door from its hinges. Two males and a female were seen loading the property into a vehicle.

D ST., 1400 block, 8 a.m. Dec. 29. A refrigerator was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

EDWIN ST., 1800 block, 5:30 p.m. Dec. 28 to 9 a.m. Dec. 30. A computer system and other property were stolen from a building entered through a second-floor window.

FRANKLIN ST., 100 block, 1:45 to 1:50 p.m. Jan. 1. A male entered a residence by breaking a basement window, and fled when he was seen by an occupant.

H ST., 300 block, 10:30 p.m. Dec. 28 to 10 a.m. Dec. 30. An attempt was made to enter a liquor store by cutting a security gate and breaking a window.

HAYES ST., 5300 block, 5:10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 31. A television was stolen from a residence entered through a living room window.

JAY ST., 4800 block, 11 a.m. Jan. 1 to 7:35 a.m. Jan. 2. A television was stolen from a residence entered through a front window.

L ST., 500 block, 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 2. Property was stolen from a residence entered through unlocked doors.

MASSACHUSETTS AVE., 800 block, 8:47 to 8:49 a.m. An attempt was made to enter a residence, and a 42-year-old female was arrested.

NEW YORK AVE., 1300 block, 9:10 p.m. Dec. 30 to 10:10 a.m. Dec. 31. Cigarettes and liquor were stolen from a liquor store entered by knocking a hole in the roof.

RHODE ISLAND AVE., 2300 block, 4 p.m. Dec. 28 to 8 a.m. Dec. 30. A heater and a circular saw were stolen from a business entered by forcing a second-floor fire escape door.

TRINIDAD AVE., 1100 block, 2 a.m. Dec. 25 to 5 p.m. Jan. 2. Tools, a ladder, kitchen cabinets, a heating system and other property were stolen from a building entered by forcing a rear door.

EIGHTH ST., 1-100 block, 1:45 a.m. Jan. 1. An attempt was made to enter a residence by smashing a glass door with a two-by-four. Someone heard the noise and investigated, and two males fled.

46TH ST., 1-100 block, 7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Jan. 2. A DVD player was stolen from a residence entered by prying open a front living room window.

HAWAII AVE., 1-100 block, 1:30 to 1:34 p.m. Dec. 31. A person unsuccessfully tried to break into a residence by prying it with a screwdriver, then jumped from a balcony. A 22-year-old man was chased and arrested.

SECOND PL., 2000 block, 11 p.m. Dec. 23 to 9:30 a.m. Dec. 30. A camera, a television and a cordless phone were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a door.

EIGHTH ST., 4000 block, 7 p.m. Dec. 24 to 2:30 a.m. Jan. 2. Money and other property were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a rear window.

10TH ST., 1000 block, 9:50 a.m. Jan. 2. A man allegedly entered the home of a female acquaintance by breaking a rear-door window and took two telephones.

50TH ST., 200 block, 2 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 26. Video-game equipment was stolen from a residence.

51ST ST., 200 block, Dec. 30. A television was stolen from a residence entered through a rear window.

ALLISON ST., 200 block, 12:30 a.m. Dec. 30. A vehicle occupied by three males blocked another vehicle. The three got out, displayed guns and robbed the other motorist of cash.

BLAIR RD., 6100 block, 10:02 to 10:03 p.m. Dec. 31. Three masked men, two armed with guns, entered a liquor store and robbed two occupants of cash.

BLAIR RD., 6700 block, 6:10 p.m. Jan. 1. A man punched a 35-year-old male pedestrian in the face, forced him down and robbed him of a wallet.

EUCLID ST., 1400 block, 2:20 a.m. Dec. 30. A gunman robbed a male of a moped and cash.

FORT STEVENS DR., 1400 block, 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27. Two male teenagers, one armed with a gun, robbed a 53-year-old male pedestrian of cash.

GEORGIA AVE., 3300 block, 12:44 a.m. Dec. 29. Four males assaulted a male pedestrian and robbed him of a video-game system and other property. The pedestrian suffered a broken arm and a dislocated shoulder.

GEORGIA AVE., 3500 block, 2:55 p.m. Dec. 30. A male teenager cut the strap of a purse carried by a 32-year-old female pedestrian and robbed her of the bag.

GEORGIA AVE., 4800 block, 6:19 p.m. Dec. 27. A man snatched a purse from a 20-year-old female pedestrian.

GEORGIA AVE., 5800 block, 11:10 to 11:15 p.m. Dec. 30. A man armed with a knife grabbed a 21-year-old female pedestrian by her coat and robbed her of a cell phone and jewelry.

GEORGIA AVE., 5900 block, 1:55 a.m. Dec. 29. A man attempted to engage a female pedestrian in conversation. She ignored him, and he snatched her purse and fled.

GEORGIA AVE., 700 block, 6:10 p.m. Dec. 27. Two men followed a 50-year-old woman into an apartment building lobby and demanded her purse. One of the men displayed a knife, and they robbed her of her purse.

H ST., 1400 block, 5 p.m. Dec. 30. Two men entered a store, and one displayed a gun, robbed a female occupant of cash and fled with the other man.

HARVARD ST., 1200 block, 3:40 a.m. Jan. 1. Two men got out of a red Dodge Intrepid and approached four people leaving a taxi. One man struck one of the people in the face with a gun and demanded cash. The second man displayed a sawed-off shotgun, then both robbers fled. One of the gunmen returned and got into the driver's seat of the cab. Another occupant got out of the taxi, and the driver crashed the cab. The two gunmen escaped.

K ST., 300 block, 1 to 1:10 p.m. Dec. 31. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of a wallet and keys.

K ST., 1500 block, 7:40 p.m. Dec. 31. A man asked a male pedestrian for cash. The pedestrian said no, and the man displayed what appeared to be a gun and robbed the pedestrian of cash.

N ST., 500 block, 10 a.m. Sept. 30. A man armed with an unidentified object robbed a male pedestrian of cash.

N ST., 900 block, 1:15 p.m. Dec. 30. Two men, one armed with a gun, pushed a male pedestrian and robbed him of cash.

NEW YORK AVE., 100 block, 5:50 a.m. Sept. 30. A man asked a male pedestrian for money. A struggle ensued, and the man cut the pedestrian on his neck.

NEW YORK AVE., 600 block, 9:10 p.m. Dec. 23. Two men, one armed with a club, robbed a male pedestrian of a watch.

NEW YORK AVE., 1200 block, 7:10 a.m. Dec. 29. A woman asked a female pedestrian for cash, and the pedestrian complied. The woman then snatched a purse from the pedestrian and fled.

PENNSYLVANIA AVE., 2000 block, 6:12 p.m. Jan. 1. A gunman grabbed a female pedestrian and robbed her of a wallet, then fled with another man.

Q ST., 1700 block, 12:29 a.m. Dec. 31. Two people, one armed with a gun, robbed a male pedestrian of cash, a phone and other property. The pedestrian was struck in the face with the gun.

QUINCY ST., 1300 block, 9:55 p.m. Dec. 29. A man armed with a knife approached a male getting out of his auto and robbed him of a wallet.

SHEPHERD ST., 1200 block, 2:50 a.m. Dec. 27. Two people got out of a vehicle, and one pulled a driver from a cab and displayed a shotgun, then they robbed him of the cab and cash.

T ST., 1400 block, 9 to 11:40 p.m. Dec. 28. Three males grabbed a male pedestrian and one robbed him of a wallet.

TUCKERMAN ST., 1200 block, 6:40 p.m. Dec. 30. A man armed with a knife got into a vehicle and robbed a 31-year-old female motorist of a cell phone.

VARNUM ST., 800 block, 3:10 to 3:15 p.m. Dec. 30. A man grabbed a 57-year-old female pedestrian by the neck and robbed her of a purse.

WEBSTER ST., 100 block, 12:04 a.m. Dec. 31. Six males, two armed with shotguns, got out of a vehicle and approached a 52-year-old man as he was in the middle of a transaction with another person. One of the males took cash from the male's vehicle.

SIXTH ST., 600 block, 8:50 p.m. Jan. 1. A man pushed a female pedestrian down and robbed her of property.

SEVENTH ST., 5300 block, 7:20 p.m. Jan. 1. Two men struck a 44-year-old female pedestrian in the face, and she fell. The men robbed her of property and fled in a vehicle.

EIGHTH ST., 6400 block, 5:33 to 5:40 p.m. Dec. 29. A male armed with a knife cut the strap of a backpack carried by a female pedestrian. The pedestrian fell, and he robbed her of the backpack.

14TH ST., 1900 block, 9:20 to 9:21 p.m. Jan. 1. Two people, one armed with a gun, demanded cash from a pedestrian.

14TH ST., 6400 block, 5:45 p.m. Dec. 31. When a 23-year-old woman opened a door to enter an apartment building, a woman armed with a gun approached and robbed her of a purse.

16TH ST., 1800 block, 12:01 to 12:03 a.m. Dec. 27. Three males, one armed with a gun, approached two pedestrians. The gun was fired, and no injuries were reported. The males robbed the pedestrians of a purse and fled.

CALL PL., 4900 block, 3:38 a.m. Dec. 29. Tommy Martin, 27, of the 5400 block of Call Place SE, was found in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. He was taken to D.C. General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:25 a.m.

THIRD ST., 4500 block, 8:35 p.m. Dec. 30. An unidentified male was found on a street with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:23 p.m.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

41ST ST., 1:05 a.m. Dec. 31. Two males sexually assaulted an 18-year-old female acquaintance at a residence.

ROBBERIES

ALABAMA AVE., 2800 block, 7 p.m. Dec. 27. A man with a handgun robbed a department store of cash.

E ST., 3100 block, 4:10 a.m. Dec. 27. A van blocked a taxi, and four male juveniles, one with a shotgun, got out of the van. They forced the cabdriver out, and he was hit on the head and robbed of property.

GOOD HOPE RD., 1800 block, 12:01 a.m. Jan. 1. A man cut a 43-year-old woman at a bus stop, then knocked her down and grabbed her gold chain and watch. A man was arrested.

HALF ST., 1300 block, 11:50 to 11:55 p.m. Dec. 31. A man with a handgun robbed a male pedestrian of cash.

MALCOLM X AVE., 700 block, 2 p.m. Dec. 29. A man struck a 20-year-old man at a residence with a handgun and robbed him of property.

MALCOLM X AVE., 800 block, 10:13 to 10:35 a.m. Jan. 2. A man struck a 43-year-old woman in the face as she sat in front of a residence. He demanded cash, then fled without obtaining anything. A man was arrested.

MINNESOTA AVE., 2200 block, 3:30 to 3:31 p.m. Dec. 28. A man robbed a female pedestrian of a hip back, a driver's license and a bank card.

ROBINSON PL., 2800 block, 1 a.m. Dec. 14. Three men playing cards with a man and two women produced guns and robbed them of property.

SAVANNAH ST., 1400 block, 7:55 p.m. Jan. 2. A man gave a 52-year-old woman a ride to a bank, and on the way home, he pulled over and choked her, took her bank card, obtained her bank personal identification number and forced her out. He then returned to the bank and took cash from her account.

W ST., 1200 block, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Three male juveniles got out of a van and beat two male juveniles playing football in a parking lot. They took a leather football jacket from one of the boys and fled.

12TH ST. AND ALABAMA AVE., 6 p.m. Dec. 30. A man with a handgun robbed a 21-year-old female pedestrian of cash and other property.

15TH ST., 400 block, 10:30 p.m. Dec. 30. A male juvenile engaged a restaurant employee in conversation, then pulled out a handgun, struggled with the employee and took money from a cash register.

15TH ST., 1900 block, 6:10 p.m. Dec. 31. A male wearing a mask got out of a vehicle, pushed a 15-year-old male pedestrian down and robbed him of a gas can containing cash.

16TH ST., 1600 block, 10 to 10:10 p.m. Dec. 30. A woman with a handgun robbed a male acquaintance of his wallet, containing a driver's license, a Social Security card and a birth certificate.

19TH AND C STREETS, 4 to 4:05 p.m. Dec. 19. Two male juveniles robbed a male pedestrian of a Sony Discman and fled.

BENNING RD., 4500 block, 9:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to 10 a.m. Jan. 1. Two cash register drawers were stolen from a fast-food restaurant entered by forcing a mechanical door. The power was shut off, and the glass in a front door was broken with a rock.

BENNING RD., 4600 block, 5 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Dec. 27. Video-game equipment was stolen from an apartment entered by forcing a front door.

ELVANS RD., 2400 block, noon Dec. 28 to 12:45 a.m. Dec. 29. A TV, a video-game system and a purse were stolen from an apartment entered by breaking a bedroom window.

G ST., 500 block, 9 a.m. Dec. 21 to 9 a.m. Dec. 23. Property was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door latch.

GOOD HOPE RD., 2300 block, 4:40 to 4:50 a.m. Jan. 1. A man allegedly kicked a neighbor's apartment door open and threatened two residents with a gun. He reportedly forced them into a car and drove around, looking for a person he claimed stole his property. He then allegedly struck both with the gun, let them out and fled.

GREEN ST., 2300 block, 7 p.m. Dec. 29 to 5 p.m. Dec. 31. Two TVs, a TV cable box, jewelry, a video-game system and games were stolen from an apartment entered by kicking a rear door.

HARTFORD ST., 2300 block, 10 p.m. Dec. 28 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 29. Telephones, a VCR, a DVD player and silverware were stolen from an apartment entered through a bedroom window.

LEBAUM ST., 500 block, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30 to 9:15 a.m. Dec. 31. An amplifier and a cassette-tape recorder were stolen from a religious institution entered by removing hinges from a rear door.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE., 3400 block, 7:50 p.m. Nov. 21. A residence was entered by breaking a front window, and an attempt was made to take a lamp. An alarm sounded, and the intruder fled empty-handed.

MELLON ST., 400 block, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 2. A radio, a TV, a TV cable box and a phone were stolen from an apartment entered by forcing front-door locks.

MISSISSIPPI AVE., 600 block, 4 p.m. Dec. 31 to 7 a.m. Jan. 2. Cash and coins were stolen from vending machines in a teachers lounge at a school. The school was entered by breaking a window.

MORRIS RD., 1400 block, 11:15 p.m. Jan. 1. A woman with a knife forced her way into a residence and robbed a 37-year-old woman of property from her purse.

MORRIS RD., 1400 block, 11:20 p.m. Jan. 1. A woman knocked on the door of a residence and asked a resident if she could use his phone. She then produced a knife and took property from his pants pocket and fled.

MORRIS RD., 1500 block, 6 p.m. Dec. 27 to 7 a.m. Dec. 30. A TV was stolen from a school entered by forcing a side window.

OAKWOOD ST., 400 block, 5 a.m. Dec. 25 to 4 p.m. Dec. 28. A TV, two VCRs, a DVD, a phone, clothing and a computer were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a basement door.

PENNSYLVANIA AVE., 1500 block, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 29. A woman and her husband allegedly forced their way into the residence of the woman's ex-husband, and the current husband reportedly assaulted him. The couple allegedly fled with the son of the woman and her first husband.

FIRST ST., 400 block, 3:30 p.m. Dec. 26 to 8 a.m. Dec. 27. An IBM ThinkPad and a CD clock-radio were stolen from a medical office.
