MONTGOMERY RUN RD., 8300 block, 10:32 a.m. Jan. 7. A 1996 Honda Accord was stolen.



CLOUDLEAP CT., 8700 block, 3 to 8:10 p.m. Jan. 5. Cash, a safe and electronic items were stolen from an apartment entered by prying a rear window off its track.

FAREWELL RD., 9400 block, 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 2. The door to a residence was kicked open. Nothing was reported taken.

OAK HALL LANE, 6700 block, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 2 to 4:30 a.m. Jan. 3. The utility room of a business was entered by prying open the door. Nothing was reported stolen.

OAKLAND MILLS RD., 6900 block, 7:30 to 10 a.m. Jan. 4. An attempt was made to gain entry into a business by prying the cylinder around a doorknob. An alarm was activated. Nothing was reported taken.

SAMUEL MORRIS DR., 7000 block, 4:44 to 7:13 p.m. Jan. 2. Pry marks were found on a back door of a store. Nothing was reported stolen.

TALON CT., 5400 block, 5 p.m. Dec. 31 to 8:30 a.m. Jan. 2. A front door of a construction trailer parked in front of a house under construction was pried open and a table saw was taken.

TOLLING CLOCK WAY, 10500 block, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 7. A man watching TV in his basement heard his dog barking upstairs. He went upstairs and saw a man in dark clothing and a dark ski cap in the kitchen with his wife's purse. The man chased the intruder out the front door where the purse was dropped on the front lawn.

WINDBEAT WAY, 9500 block, 7:20 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 3. A residence entered by kicking in a front door was ransacked, and jewelry was taken from the second floor of the home. Computer equipment was unplugged, but not taken. A teenage male was seen sitting on the front steps of the house.


FAIR BEAUTY, 1000 block, 9:23 p.m. A 1998 Acura Integra was stolen.

LITTLE PATUXENT PKWY., 10300 block, 9:01 p.m. Jan. 6. A blue Toyota Corolla was stolen.

TAMAR DR., 5900 block, 4:12 p.m. Jan. 5. A blue 1998 Dodge Caravan was stolen.



GLENMORE AVE., 6400 block, 8 a.m. Jan. 6. A dirt bike was stolen from a detached garage.

MEADOWRIDGE RD., 6100 block, 11:56 p.m. Jan. 2. Cash was stolen from a closed liquor store. There were no signs of forced entry.


FROTHINGHAM CT., 6400 block, 6:15 p.m. Jan. 3 to 9 a.m. Jan. 4. A green 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

SEDGWICK ST., 6400 block, 3:30 p.m. Jan. 6. A 1992 BMW 528 station wagon was stolen.



RHODE VALLEY TRAIL, 3500 block, Jan. 3. A 17-year-old boy was poisoned with potassium cyanide given to him in a drink by an acquaintance. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Medical Institute in Baltimore where he died Jan. 8. An 18-year-old Ellicott City man was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.


EDENBROOK DR., 7200 block, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 6. A man and a male companion assaulted a man and took his cell phone. A 22-year-old man was arrested.


BERKSHIRE LANE, 10200 block, Dec. 21 to Dec. 25. Damage to a back door of an unoccupied residence was found by a neighbor who had been feeding pet fish at the property. Entry was not gained by an intruder.

BETHANY LANE, 2800 block, 3:30 p.m. Jan. 3 to 8:30 a.m. Jan. 7. An attempt was made to enter a church by prying a front-door frame and inserting an object into the locking mechanism.

CEDAR GROVE LANE, 7400 block, 8:15 a.m. Dec. 30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 5. Electronic equipment was stolen from a ransacked residence entered by kicking a back door.

FREDERICK RD., 11000 block, 7 p.m. Jan. 4 to 7 a.m. Jan. 6. Scratched-off lottery tickets were stolen from a store entered by smashing a front window.

HAYSHED LANE, 8700 block, 7:14 a.m. Jan. 2. A four-wheel ATV and a dirt bike were taken from a locked shed.

LITER CT., 2600 block, 11:30 a.m. Jan. 2 to 7:35 p.m. Jan. 3. Cash was removed from a safe at residence where a construction crew had been working.

OLD STOCKBRDIGE DR., 8100 block, 7:41 a.m. Jan. 6. A construction trailer was broken into.

SUSIES WAY, 6900 block, 9 p.m. Jan. 1. A man at a relatives' residence kicked open a back door. A neighbor saw the incident and called police. A man was arrested and a bag of change and two guns were recovered. Two other men also were arrested.

YELLOW-ROSE CT., 5700 block, 10:35 p.m. Dec. 5. A female reported to police that an acquaintance of her mother was trying to break into the residence.


FALLING LEAVES CT., 7800 block, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3 to noon Jan. 4. A red 2000 Honda Civic was stolen.



SANDY CT., 8200 block, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 6 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7. Cash was stolen from a desk inside a business entered by jimmying a front door lock.

WASHINGTON BLVD., 7400 block, 3 p.m. Dec. 31 to 6:45 a.m. Jan. 2. Welding equipment and other property were stolen from a construction site entered by cutting a chain that secured an entrance.



WASHINGTON BLVD., 9000 block, 12:42 p.m. Jan. 6. A gray Fruehauf trailer was stolen.



ROUTE 97, 2400 block, 9:45 p.m. Jan. 5. A gunman in a store jumped a counter and demanded cash. Cash from a register and a change box were given to him and the robber fled.

DAISY RD., 2100 block, 3:03 p.m. Jan. 4. A person was seen entering a garage of a residence. An 18-year-old man was arrested.
