NVBIA Elects New Officers And Council Members

The Fauquier chapter of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association has elected new officers and council members, including Steve Potucek of American Home Landscaping as president and Steve Robinson of Gibraltar Homes Corp. as vice president.

Hall of Frederick Ward Associates Inc.; and Chuck Jackson of Soil Consultants Inc.

This month the council will commit itself to the community and help the Fauquier County government find affordable housing.

Start-Up Seminars

The Loudoun County Small Business Development Center will hold a program on the basics of bookkeeping and taxation from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eastern Loudoun Regional Library, 21030 Whitfield Pl., Sterling. Topics will include how to set up accounting records, including software, monthly and quarterly filing and bookkeeping responsibilities.

The center will also hold a presentation on how to start a business from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. next Thursday at Rust Library, 380 Old Waterford Rd., Leesburg. Topics will include taxes, licensing, record-keeping and more. To reserve space for either program, call 703-430-7222.

Social Services Department Hosts Re{acute}sume{acute} Workshop

The Career Support Services Unit of the Loudoun County Department of Social Services is sponsoring a Re{acute}sume{acute} Writing Workshop from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Shenandoah Building, 102 Heritage Way NE, Leesburg.
