Jan Clark of Pasadena has been appointed to the North Arundel Hospital board of directors. He also serves as president of the hospital foundation board. Clark, president and chief executive officer of County National Bank, has been a North Arundel Hospital volunteer for more than 30 years. In the 1970s, he solicited donations for the hospital from local businesses. Before becoming a bank president in 1996, Clark was managing partner of the certified accounting practice Clark and Anderson.

Maryland Del. Mary Ann Love (D) of Glen Burnie was also appointed to the 17-member North Arundel Hospital board of directors. Love has been a state delegate since 1994. She also serves on the boards for Hospice of the Chesapeake, Partners in Care, the Providence Center and the Gerontology Advisory Board at Anne Arundel Community College. Love is also a member of the Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Community Action Agency.

Hillard Donner, owner of Annapolis Mills Wine and Spirits, will be honored by Hospice of the Chesapeake during the Beacon of Hope Gala dinner March 22 at the Sheraton Barcelo Hotel. Donner will be recognized for his philanthropy and efforts on behalf of the hospice and the Anne Arundel County community.

Donner has provided wine for the Hospice of the Chesapeake fundraisers and has helped raise money during the organization's capital campaign. Donner is also helping the in-home patient care organization build a hospice house in southern Anne Arundel.

The gala, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., will include a silent auction, wine tasting and cocktail hour. WJZ-TV news anchor Denise Koch will host. Individual tickets are $150.

Glen Robbins, senior vice president and chief medical officer for North Arundel Hospital, has been appointed the senior vice president of the University of Maryland Medical System.

Robbins, of Pasadena, is a doctor of internal medicine and also serves as clinical director and president of Arundel Physicians Associates. In his new position, Robbins will advise six Maryland Medical System hospitals on medical staff and clinical resource management issues, including Glen Burnie's North Arundel Hospital.
