A third man was arrested yesterday in the November stabbing of a 20-year-old University of Maryland student in College Park, authorities said.

Police arrested Robert Allen Fournier, 22, at his house in the 6600 block of Buttonhole Court in Columbia about 2:30 p.m. yesterday. He is being held without bond on a charge of first-degree murder, said Cpl. Tammy Sparkman, a police spokeswoman.

Fournier was identified by witnesses as one of three men involved in the stabbing of Brandon James Malstrom outside a College Park party, police said.

John R. Schlamp, 24, of Columbia was indicted in December on charges of common law murder, common law riot and assault in Malstrom's slaying. Quan L. Davis, 23, of Hanover also was charged in the case.

According to police and charging documents, Schlamp, Davis and Malstrom were attending a party Nov. 10 when Schlamp asked Malstrom for the cell phone he was holding and then told him, "I am gonna kill you."

Schlamp hit Malstrom, and witnesses saw Davis pulling an "unknown object from his waistband, striking the victim in the torso," according to charging documents.

Malstrom, who was stabbed in the chest, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
