Games to Watch

* BOYS

Gonzaga at Bishop McNamara, Friday, 7:30 p.m.: Defense will take center stage in this Washington Catholic Athletic Conference game in Forestville. Entering the week, Gonzaga's opponents had scored 47.5 points per game, and McNamara's foes hadn't fared much better (50.2 points per game). But the Purple Eagles also score a conference-best 65.9 points a game, and won the first meeting, 71-57, on Jan. 3.

Potomac at Fairmont Heights, Friday, 7 p.m.: Potomac has relied on defense during its somewhat surprising season; the Wolverines entered the week holding opponents to 58.5 points per game, lowest in the Prince George's 3A/2A/1A League. Fairmont Heights defeated Potomac, 65-63, on Dec. 17.

* GIRLS

Eleanor Roosevelt vs. Oxon Hill at Run 'n' Shoot, Friday, 7 p.m.: Two teams that provided one of the best Prince George's 4A games of the season meet for a second time. Oxon Hill rallied from a 15-point deficit in the final 5 minutes 20 seconds and ended the game on a 24-7 run to pull out a 59-57 home victory on Dec. 17.

Douglass at Forestville, Friday, 7 p.m.: Douglass entered the week on a two-game losing streak after winning its four previous games. Sophomore forward Kellie Tyler averages 20.5 points -- second-best in the Prince George's 3A/2A/1A League -- for the Eagles, who hope to avenge a 70-52 loss to the Knights on Dec. 17. Forestville entered the week having lost three of its past five games after opening the season 7-1. Knights sophomore guard Yolanda Lavender (19.5 ppg) and junior guard Felicia Terrell (19.5 ppg) are tied for third in the league in scoring.
