Owner Ordered to Leash Dogs

Silver Spring, Estelle Rd., 13000 block. A person in the 3100 block of Helsel Drive captured a Labrador retriever and a mixed pit bull-terrier that had been running loose. The dogs were taken to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter where the owner claimed the dogs after being issued an order, which required dogs to be leashed when walked off the owner's property.

Trespassing Lab Impounded

Silver Spring, Dove Rd., 13300 block. A reportedly aggressive dog wandered inside a resident's yard and blocked access to the house. Animal services took the dog, a black Labrador retriever, to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, where an owner claimed it after purchasing a license and receiving a citation for allowing a dog to run at large.

Resident Nabs Loose Dog

Silver Spring, Childs St., 10800 block, Feb. 7. A resident brought a dog to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. The dog's owner claimed the animal at the shelter and paid a $100 fee, a fine assessed for allowing a dog to run at large.

Pit Bull Frightens Motorist

Dickerson, Big Woods Rd., 20900 block. A woman called animal services from her vehicle to report that an aggressive pit bull was growling and barking and that she was too frightened to get out of the vehicle. The woman's husband arrived and leashed the animal, and an animal services officer took the dog to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. The owner claimed the dog after receiving a citation charging the owner with allowing a dog to run at large.
