ROBBERIES

CONNECTICUT AVE., 7900 block, 8:15 p.m. Feb. 10. A gunman wearing a red bandana across his face robbed a 45-year-old D.C. woman of cash as she waited for a bus.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

WISCONSIN AVE., 5400 block, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 10. A computer was stolen from a residence.

GERMANTOWN DISTRICT

ROBBERIES

GUNNERS BRANCH RD., 19500 block, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Three men, two of them armed with handguns, robbed a 20-year-old Germantown man of cash.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BENT WILLOW CIR., 18800 block, 12 a.m. to 5:45 a.m. Feb. 9. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a door.

BRINK RD., 7000 block, 7 to 9:30 a.m. Feb. 11. Padding was stolen from a garage at a residence.

WONDERLAND WAY, 13100 block, 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Feb. 12. Computer equipment, a video-game system and games were stolen from a residence.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE/

GAITHERSBURG DISTRICT

ROBBERIES

MUDDY BRANCH RD., 400 block, 11:50 p.m. Feb. 9. Two males, one armed with a gun, robbed a Gaithersburg man, 23, of cash and fled on foot.

WALKER HOUSE RD., 9900 block, 11:10 p.m. Feb. 18. Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a Potomac woman, 45, of her purse. A bystander reported the men got into a white Cadillac. A Gaithersburg city police officer tried to stop the car, then pursued it and saw a front-seat passenger throwing objects from the Cadillac. Montgomery County Police officers deployed puncture devices on Route 28 and disabled the Cadillac's front tires. The driver and the front-seat passenger jumped out of the car. A man was chased and struggled with police. Police used a stun gun to stop a second man. Police recovered a handgun and property belonging to the Potomac woman. A 19-year-old Riverdale man, a 20-year-old Hyattsville man, a 20-year-old Gaithersburg man and a 17-year-old Hyattsville boy were arrested and charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree assault and conspiracy to commit first-degree assault. The 19-year-old also was charged with theft under $500 and possession of suspected marijuana. The 17-year-old boy also was charged with two counts of resisting arrest.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CRABBS BRANCH WAY, 16700 block, 11:09 p.m. Feb. 12. Computer equipment was stolen from a school entered by breaking a window.

STERLING TER., 10000 block, Feb. 2. An attempt was made to enter a residence by prying a window frame.

SUMMIT AVE. N., 20 block, 10:20 to 10:30 p.m. Feb. 6. A window at a business was broken.

ROBBERIES

HUNGERFORD DR., 600 block, 11:07 p.m. Feb. 7. A man wearing a black ski mask in a supermarket, accompanied by a man wearing a black hood, demanded cash from a store employee.

LEWIS AND HOLLAND ROADS, 9:30 p.m. Feb. 15. A man with a knife robbed a 41-year-old Rockville woman of cash, then fled toward the Twinbrook Metro station.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

DARNESTOWN RD., 12100 block, 12:56 p.m. Feb. 17. An empty cash register was stolen from a fast-food restaurant entered through an unlocked door.

FREDERICK RD., 15600 block, noon Feb. 15 to 5:50 a.m. Feb. 17. A door lock at a car-rental agency was pried. Nothing was reported stolen.

FREDERICK RD., 16100 block, 1:30 to 1:55 a.m. Jan. 9. A side window at a building was broken. Nothing was reported stolen.

FREDERICK RD., 16200 block, 7 p.m. Feb. 5. to 8:15 a.m. Feb. 6. Front door glass at a business was broken. Nothing was reported stolen.

HIAWATHA DR., 7000 block, 5 p.m. Feb. 8 to 2 p.m. Feb. 13. A front window at a residence was broken. Nothing was reported stolen.

MAHAN RD., 4300 block, 1 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11. An attempt was made to enter a residence by kicking in a door.

PINEY GLEN CT., unit block, 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 11. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

SILVER SPRING DISTRICT

ROBBERIES

EDGEWOOD AVE., 10400 block, 8:15 p.m. Feb. 15. A man engaged a 41-year-old Silver Spring man in conversation, then two other men pulled out handguns and demanded cash. The robbers fled empty-handed.

FENWICK LANE, 1300 block, 11:45 p.m. Feb. 11. A man entered a 24-hour convenience store, forced an employee to the floor, forced open the cash register, took cash and fled.

GEORGIA AVE., 10900 block, 1:15 p.m. Feb. 12. Three men attempted to rob a 20-year-old Silver Spring man of a hand-held radio and were punching the him when a car drove by. The assailants fled. Nothing was reported taken.

GREENWOOD AND WABASH AVENUES, 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8. A person walked behind a 52-year-old Silver Spring woman, forced her down, grabbed her purse and fled to a vehicle parked nearby.

MANCHESTER RD., 8400 block, 11:10 p.m. Feb. 11. A man in an apartment-building lobby began a converstation with a 31-year-old Silver Spring woman and a second man grabbed her purse and forced her down. The attackers fled out the front door.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 10200 block, 12:30 p.m. Feb. 17. A male at a gas station entered an employee booth, implied he had a weapon and ordered the employee to open a register. The employee complied and the male removed cash from the register and fled on foot.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 12000 block, 8:20 p.m. Feb. 12. A 32-year-old Kenbridge, Va., man was arrested and charged with robbery and theft under $500 in connection with an incident at the above location.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 800 block, 9:05 p.m. Feb. 10. A gunman robbed a 53-year-old Silver Spring woman of cash while a second man stood by. Both fled.

UPTON DR., 3000 block, 3 p.m. Feb. 4. An 18-year-old Silver Spring man was robbed of cash by a gunman and a man armed with a knife. The man reported the incident to police Feb. 5.

WAYNE AVE., 1 to 100 block, 4 p.m. Feb. 15. Two men robbed a 51-year-old Silver Spring woman at knifepoint of cash and keys as she got out of her vehicle.

WAYNE AVENUE AND FENTON STREET, 10:30 p.m. Feb. 11. A male at a bus stop began a conversation with a 53-year-old Bethesda woman, then forced her down and fled with her purse.

COLESVILLE RD., 10200 block, 10:30 p.m. Dec. 30, 2002 to 10 a.m. Dec. 31, 2002. A battery charger was stolen from a shed at a residence.

FINALE TER., 100 block, 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 6. Jewelry, a video-game system and computer equipment were stolen from a residence entered through a window.

RIDING STABLE RD., 15700 block, 7:40 to 7:45 p.m. Feb. 1. An attempt was made to enter a residence through a rear door. Nothing was reported stolen.

WARREN ST., 9100 block, 8:45 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. Feb. 6. A computer, a video-game system and games were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

ASSAULTS

BRADLEY AVE., 1500 block, 2:05 a.m. Feb. 12. A 36-year-old Rockville man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident at the above location.

DAWSON AVE., 300 block, 11:40 p.m. Feb. 16. A 27-year-old Rockville man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 700 block, 3:26 p.m. Feb. 17. A 13-year-old Bethesda boy was arrested on an outstanding warrant for first- and second-degree assault in connection with an incident at the above location.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

MAPLE AVE., 800 block, 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Feb. 12. Cash, a video-game system, two controllers, five memory cards, video games, several knife sets and a carry-on suitcase were stolen from a residence entered through a side window.

SOUTHLAWN LANE, 600 block, 11 p.m. Feb. 7 to 7:30 a.m. Feb. 10. A commercial building was entered by breaking a side door window. Nothing was reported stolen.

VEIRS MILL RD., 900 block, noon Feb. 6 to 4 p.m. Feb. 10. Saws and tools were stolen from a shed at a business, entered by forcing the shed doors.

WEAPONS POSSESSIONS

AVERY RD., 14500 block, 8:01 a.m. Feb. 12. A 16-year-old Rockville boy was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon on school property in connection with an incident at the above location.

AVERY RD., 14500 block, 1:30 p.m. Feb. 12. A 14-year-old Rockville boy was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon on school property and possession of suspected marijuana in connection with an incident at the above location.

ASSAULTS

HOUSTON AVE., 600 block, 8:31 p.m. Feb. 19. Police responded to a report of a fight. A police officer was reportedly grabbed and struck by one of the combatants while trying to separate them. A man was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and obstructing and hindering an officer.

ROBBERIES

ETHAN ALLEN AND ELM AVENUES, 4:12 p.m. Feb. 15. Three males accosted a woman and one assailant pulled out a knife and demanded property. The woman struggled with the robbers and was injured. The attackers took the woman's property and fled in a tan Toyota Camry or Corolla-style car.

CARROLL AVE., 6900 block, 3:23 a.m. Feb. 15. Two males with guns and wearing ski masks took property from a man who had completed a transaction at an ATM.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1300 block, 1 a.m. Feb. 16. Two men, one with a handgun, accosted a man as he was getting out of his vehicle and robbed the man of his green, 1995 Toyota Camry. The man reported the robbery to police four days later.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

HOUSTON AVE., 600 block, 4 p.m. Feb. 13 to 5:30 a.m. Feb. 14. An attempt was made to steal a 1992 Plymouth Voyager. The driver's door and the ignition were damaged during the attempt.

MAPLE AVE., 7500 block, 2 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17. A 1985 Chevrolet Caprice was stolen.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 7400 block, 1:11 p.m. Feb. 17. A closed business was entered by breaking a glass front door. Nothing was reported taken.
