* The SPCA of Northern Virginia needs foster homes for dogs and cats. The SPCA does not have a shelter and depends on foster homes for animals that have been rescued from abuse and neglect. For more information, call 703-799-9390 or visit www.spcanova.org.

* The Naomi Project needs mentors to work one-on-one with high-risk pregnant women to promote healthy mothers and healthy babies. There is a special need for Spanish- speaking volunteers. * The Fairfax Victim Assistance

Network needs volunteers for its sexual assault and domestic abuse crisis hotline. Bilingual and bicultural volunteers are welcome. Training will take place on Wednesday evenings and two Saturdays between April 5 and May 28. For more information, call 703-360-7273.

* The Fairfax Area Agency on Aging needs volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program. Drivers are needed in all areas of the county: a driver coordinator is needed to schedule drivers in Fairfax City; and meal deliverers are needed at Forest Glen in Centreville.
