Business Expo Set

The eighth annual Procurement and Business Expo will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the Universities at Shady Grove, Building 2, University of Maryland, 9630 Gudelsky Dr., Rockville.

The event, sponsored by U.S. Rep. Albert R. Wynn (D-Md.), will feature more than 100 agencies from federal, state and local government, and private sectors to talk to small businesses about contracting opportunities. For more information, call 202-225-8699.

Nurses Group Moving

The American Nurses Association has selected downtown Silver Spring as the site for its new headquarters.

The national association, which represents registered nurses and has more than 150,000 members, will move from Washington to 8515 Georgia Ave. once construction of a new office building is complete in summer 2004. The association will lease 50,000 square feet of space.

"We are very excited about being a part of the great urban renaissance in downtown Silver Spring," Barbara A. Blakeney, president of the American Nurses Association, said in a statement.
