ROBBERIES

FAWCETT ST., 10400 block, 12:30 p.m. March 8. A man in an antique store opened a briefcase on a counter, then opened his jacket to show a small, black handgun in his waistband. He told a clerk to fill the briefcase with jewelry from display cases. The clerk complied and the robber walked out.

OLD GEORGETOWN RD., 10400 block, 6:27 p.m. March 8. A man in a supermarket went up to an express-line cash register when the register was momentarily untended, reached into the register and fled with cash.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ALLAN RD., 5000 block, 5:45 p.m. March 8. A bicycle was stolen from a residence entered through a garage door.

NIMITZ RD., 3700 block, 11 a.m. to 5:10 p.m. March 3. Jewelry and a DVD player were stolen from a residence entered by prying open a rear window.

RIVER RD., 5200 block, Feb. 28 to 6:15 a.m. March 3. Cash was stolen from a business entered by prying framework.

ROCKLEDGE DR., 6400 block, 4:50 p.m. March 3 to 7:15 a.m. March 4. Cash and stamps were stolen from a medical office entered by prying open a side door.

RUGBY AVE., 5000 block, 3:30 p.m. March 7 to 7 a.m. March 10. A business was entered by forcing a door lock. Nothing was reported stolen.

RUGBY AVE., 5000 block, 6 p.m. Feb. 28 to 7 a.m. March 2. Food was stolen from a business entered through an unlocked rear door.

STONEWALL DR., 14600 block, 6 p.m. March 8 to 6 a.m. March 9. A residence was entered through a rear window. Nothing was reported stolen.

CRYSTAL ROCK DR., 19600 block, 5 p.m. Feb. 20 to 4 p.m. March 3. A computer with accessories, a DVD player, a video camera and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered through a rear window.

GREY EAGLE CT., 12600 block, 1 to 10:30 a.m. March 2. A door frame at a residence was pried. Nothing was reported stolen.

METZ DR., 18200 block, 8:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. March 3. DVD movies, computer game systems and computer games were stolen from a residence entered by twisting a front door knob.

ROBBERIES

LOST KNIFE CIR., 18200 block, 10:03 p.m. March 5. A male youth with several other males demanded cash at knifepoint from a 21-year-old Gaithersburg man, then hit the man on the back of the head and took his cash. The man fled and called police.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BRASSIE PL., 19400 block, 5 p.m. March 4 to 7 a.m. March 5. An office was entered by breaking through a rear door. Nothing was reported stolen.

CHADBURN PL., 9200 block, 8 p.m. Feb. 28 to 4 p.m. March 1. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

DARLINGTON DR., 20200 block, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 27. A gun, a vehicle, a computer, a CD player, a DVD player, jewelry, silverware, video games and a video-game system were stolen from a residence entered by breaking out a basement door.

ELI LANE, 23600 block, noon to 1:08 p.m. March 4. Cash and a watch were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

SUMMIT AVE. W., 20 block, 8:10 Feb. 27 to 1:20 p.m. Feb. 28. A telephone and a TV-VCR were stolen from a business entered by breaking a side window.

WESTLAND DR., 8900 block, 10 p.m. Feb. 26 to 10:15 a.m. Feb. 27. Cash was stolen from a pizzeria entered by breaking through a side door.

ASHLEY DR., 11900 block, 9:30 p.m. March 5 to 4:15 a.m. March 6. A safe was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

BLANCHARD DR., 7100 block, 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. March 5. Jewelry and CDs were stolen from a residence entered through a side door.

DREWS CT., 12200 block, 9:45 to 10:01 p.m. March 8. A door at a residence was opened. Nothing was reported stolen.

VANDALISM

RANDOLPH RD., 5300 block, 4:45 a.m. March 4. A female was seen near two vehicles that had been vandalized. A K-9 officer, with a police dog, saw a woman matching the description of the female enter a self-storage facility. A 46-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with one count of malicious destruction of property. Black spray paint was recovered at the scene.

SILVER SPRING DISTRICT

ASSAULTS

13TH AVE., 8000 block, 1 a.m. March 9. A 19-year-old Silver Spring man on the second floor of a motel encountered two men, one of whom had gold teeth, and a fight erupted. The Silver Spring man was stabbed in the back. The assailants fled on foot. The Silver Spring man was taken to MedStar in Washington.

ROBBERIES

ALTON PARKWAY AND SPRING STREET, 11:24 p.m. March 3. Two men demanded a wallet at gunpoint from a man, 45, who walked home with a woman, 50, from the Silver Spring Metro station. The man complied and the robber then struck him in the face. The second robber grabbed the woman's purse and she struggled with her attacker until the purse strap broke. The robbers fled on foot.

DENNIS AVE., 1900 block, 8:10 p.m. March 9. Two men demanded cash from a male pizza delivery driver, who had just made a delivery. One man reached under his sweatshirt as if armed with a gun and threatened to shoot the driver. Then one robber forced the man to the ground and took cash from a front pocket while the second robber took cash from his back pocket. The man fought, then flagged down two Montgomery County police officers and reported the robbery. The officers asked him to get into the police cruiser and they searched the area. An 18-year-old D.C. man and an 18-year-old Takoma Park man were arrested and charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first-degree assault and theft under $500.

EAST-WEST HWY., 1900 block, 8:40 p.m. March 6. A man in a parking lot pulled a ski mask over his face and grabbed a woman's purse. The woman, 55, screamed and the man hit her, then fled to the rear entrance of a building complex at the above location.

LOCKWOOD DR., 11600 block, 9:37 p.m. March 6. A gunman in a parking lot demanded a wallet from a 27-year-old man who was returning to his apartment. The said he had no wallet and the gunman searched him, then fled in a 1990 four-door, white Cadillac driven by another male. Nothing was reported taken.

MANCHESTER RD., 8600 block, 5:45 a.m. Feb. 21. A man asked a 59-year-old woman for change, then began to hit her, forced her to the ground and demanded her car keys. The man then took the car keys and fled in the woman's 2002, four-door, blue Ford Escape. A burgundy Honda occupied by two males fled the scene at the same time.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

AVENEL GARDENS, 10100 block, 8:45 a.m. to noon March 4. Cash, jewelry, a computer, knives, clothing, computer game systems and computer games were stolen from a residence entered through a sliding glass door.

BRUTON PARISH WAY, 3500 block, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. March 7. Wine and a radio were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a basement window.

CASTLE BLVD., 13800 block, noon to 3:40 p.m. March 3. A residence was entered through an unlocked front door. Nothing was reported stolen.

CASTLE BLVD., 13900 block, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 26. A music keyboard, cassettes and cleaning products were stolen from a residence entered through a front door.

CHERRY HILL RD., 12200 block, 6:30 a.m. to 1:28 p.m. March 6. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

CHILDS ST., 11200 block, 1:11 a.m. March 4. Property was stolen from an elementary school entered by forcing a front door.

DECEMBER DR., 1500 block, 7:25 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 3. DVDs, a video game system and games, a camera and a computer and accessories were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a side window.

HAMPTON HOLLOW DR., 3400 block, 6:30 p.m. Feb. 3 to noon March 2. Jewelry was stolen from a residence.

LOCKWOOD DR., 11500 block, 5:48 a.m. March 5. Property was stolen from a residence entered by pulling a screen on a side window.

LONG BRANCH PKWY., 9200 block, 12:01 a.m. Nov. 1, 2002 to 5 p.m. March 3. A bicycle and a lawnmower were stolen from a backyard shed at a residence, entered by prying open the shed.

LOXFORD TER., 1000 block, 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 4. A gun and cash were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a rear window.

LYRIC LANE, 300 block, 9 a.m. to 3:42 p.m. Feb. 25. Cash, jewelry and a computer were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a sliding glass basement door.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 12600 block, 2 to 9:06 a.m. March 3. A front door at a church was pried open. Nothing was reported stolen.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 15400 block, 11 p.m. March 1 to 11:30 a.m. March 2. A front window at a carry-out restaurant was pried. Nothing was reported stolen.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 15400 block, 11:30 p.m. March 3. Cash was stolen from a tire store entered by breaking through a front door.

SPENCERVILLE RD., 2400 block, 12:01 to 6 a.m. March 6. Computers were stolen from a school entered through an unlocked rear door.

ROBBERIES

VEIRS MILL ROAD, Westfields Shoppingtown mall, 7:29 p.m. March 1. Two males in a shopping mall accosted a 14-year-old Silver Spring boy using a pay phone and hit him in the face and head. They then demanded cash but the boy refused and the attackers ran outside the mall.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

COMMANDERY WAY, 18300 block, 11:30 p.m. March 2 to midnight March 3. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a garage.

FALLING GREEN RD., 3500 block, 7 p.m. Feb. 11 to 7 a.m. Feb. 12. A padlock was removed from a shed at a residence. Nothing was reported stolen.

GEORGIAN WOODS PL., 2300 block, 8 a.m. Feb. 27 to 10:30 p.m. Feb. 28. An attempt was made to enter a residence by drilling into a door knob.

HEURICH RD., 12500 block, 2 to 9:45 a.m. March 1. A computer and software were stolen from a residence entered by twisting a rear door knob.

HEWITT AVE., 3100 block, 4 to 4:15 p.m. March 4. A video-game system and a game were stolen from a residence entered by twisting a front door knob.

MUNCASTER RD., 19700 block, noon to 5 p.m. March 1. A snow blower, a TV, a VCR and a video-game system were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a side door.

PEARTREE CT., 3600 block, 1:18 p.m. March 4. A video-game system and games and a DVD player were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a side window.

ROBBERIES

WASHINGTON ST. N., 200 block, 12:06 a.m. March 6. A man threatened a woman with a pencil while she was using an ATM at a bank, then robbed her. The woman reported the incident to city police. A 44-year-old Rockville man was arrested and charged with robbery and second-degree assault. Drug paraphernalia was found during the arrest.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CRAWFORD DR., 1000 block, 7:10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 7. A cordless telephone and a video camera were stolen from a residence entered through a side window.

DUNDEE RD., 1900 block, 11:10 p.m. March 8 to 8 a.m. March 9. A stereo and an amplifier were stolen from a vehicle.

GUDE DR. E., 1300 block, 9 p.m. March 2 to 8:27 a.m. March 3. Cash from a cash box and numerous audio, video and car accessories were stolen from a business.

KING FARM BLVD., 700 block, 11:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 3. Cash, a money clip and a watch were stolen from a locker.

MONROE PL., 1 to 100 block, 11:15 p.m. March 8 to 3 a.m. March 9. A jacket and a set of keys were stolen.

RESEARCH BLVD., 2200 block, 5:30 p.m. March 3 to 8:15 a.m. March 4. Notes and files were stolen from an office.

RICHARD MONTGOMERY DR., 200 block, 1:30 to 4 p.m. March 9. A wallet was stolen from a jacket.

RIDGEWAY AVE., 5900 block, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 7. A purse accidentally left in a room at this location was stolen.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1700 block, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 7. Cash was stolen from a purse.

TAFT CT., 1 to 100 block, 6:30 p.m. March 4 to 8 a.m. March 5. Cash was stolen from multiple vending machines at a business entered by prying a rear door.

VEIRS MILL RD., 1900 block, 1 to 1:24 p.m. March 3. A wallet was removed from a purse.

VEIRS MILL RD., 2100 block, 2:30 p.m. March 3. A 17-year-old Silver Spring boy was arrested and charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle in connection with an incident at the above location.

WEAPONS VIOLATIONS

AVERY RD., 14500 block, 10:45 to 10:50 a.m. March 4. An 18-year-old Germantown man was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an incident at the above location.

AVERY RD., 14500 block, 10:10 a.m. March 7. A 14-year-old Silver Spring boy was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon in connection with an incident at the above location.

VANDALISM

AVERY RD., 14500 block, 8:45 a.m. March 5. An 18-year-old Gaithersburg man was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property in connection with an incident at the above location.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

ANNE STREET AND UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD, 10:41 a.m. March 8. A police officer saw a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign. The vehicle and tags had been reported stolen to Prince George's County police. A man was charged with motor vehicle theft, theft over $500 and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A boy was charged with conspiracy to commit auto theft and conspiracy to commit theft.

FLOWER AVE., 8200 block, 10:58 p.m. March 4. Police found a car that had been reported stolen. A man was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft, theft over $500 and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

LINCOLN AVE., 500 block, 7:40 to 7:51 a.m. March 11. A 1998 Volvo V70 was stolen. The car's owner had left the vehicle running with the keys in the ignition.

MAPLE AVE., 7600 block, 4:30 p.m. March 7 to 12:05 a.m. March 8. A 1995 Ford Crown Victoria was stolen.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 7300 block, 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. March 12. A 1999 Isuzu Amigo was stolen.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 7400 block, 7 p.m. March 11 to 12:51 a.m. March 12. A 1994 Honda Accord was stolen.

VANDALISM

GARLAND AVE., 7100 block, 7 p.m. March 7 to 8:45 a.m. March 8. A 1997 Honda Accord was entered by breaking a window. The vehicle was equipped with an alarm and an anti-theft club device.

14TH AVE., 7100 block, 11 p.m. March 8 to 1 p.m. March 9. An attempt was made to enter a 1997 Toyota Avalon by prying a window, shattering the window. Nothing was reported stolen.
