ANNAPOLIS AREA

ROBBERIES

WEST ST., 1900 block, 3:25 a.m. March 24. A man got into a cab after prepaying for a ride to the 1400 block of Cedarhurst Road in Shady Side. When they arrived at the destination, the cabdriver said the passenger owed an additional $5. The passenger said, "I don't have any more money, and you're going to give me your money," then implied that he had a weapon and robbed the driver of the original fare. A short time later, police arrested a 22-year-old Shady Side man at the same address.

BLACK WALNUT DR., 3200 block, 11:58 a.m. March 18. Cash was stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

CHRISTLAND DR., 3200 block, 5 a.m. March 13 to 8 p.m. March 17. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

GILBERT RD., 1400 block, 2:48 a.m. March 17. A bicycle, a motorcycle and other property were stolen from a residence entered through an unlocked door.

CRESSWELL RD., 300 block, 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. March 18. Audio recordings, video games and equipment were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

MAYO RD., 100 block, 11:05 p.m. March 18 to 10:40 a.m. March 19. Cash, IDs and a cash register were stolen from a business entered by forcing a rear door.

ORIOLE RD., 1600 block, noon to 3 p.m. March 18. Equipment was stolen from a residence entered by cutting a door lock.

ROBBERIES

CRAINMONT CT. E., 7900 block, March 22. As a man was getting something out of a friend's car, two males, one armed with a gun, told him to empty his pockets. When it became clear that the man didn't have anything, the gunman demanded that he give up the car keys. The man refused, and the

gunman punched him in the mouth. The robbers then fled on foot.

VALIANT CIRCLE AND ELVATON TOWNE ROAD, 1:20 p.m. March 24. A male demanded that a female give him a delivery bag containing a pizza and bread sticks. She refused, and the male grabbed her around the throat and forced her to the ground. During the struggle, a second male got into the female's car, a 2001 Daewood left with the key in the ignition. The female let go of the pizza bag, and the robbers fled in her car.

AMERICAN CIR., 7800 block, 10 a.m. March 18 to 10:05 a.m. March 19. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a window.

HARRISON SQ., 6400 block, 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. March 17. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear door.

HIGHLAND DR., 300 block, 8 to 8:35 a.m. March 20. A residence was entered through a door. Nothing was reported missing.

ASSAULTS

MAYWOOD AVE., 8000 block, 2:10 p.m. March 23. A man slapped a female juvenile relative in the face several times at a residence and dragged her by her hair. The teenager suffered bruising to her left eye. The man fled when police arrived, then set fire to a 1994 Ford Escort station wagon parked in the driveway. During the investigation at the residence, the man reappeared and was arrested. A 42-year-old man was

charged with one count of child abuse and second-degree arson.
