Gaithersburg fatality: A 48-year-old Gaithersburg man was found dead yesterday behind a row of townhouses there, and his death is being investigated as a homicide, authorities said.

About 11 a.m., Gaithersburg police found the body of Donald Tenly in the unit block of Nina Court. An injured man who was with him was treated at a hospital, police said.

They said Tenly's injuries were not consistent with a natural death, but they declined to comment further. The medical examiner's office in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy, police said.

Murder charge: Nearly a year after a Dale City teenager was gunned down in front of his home, Prince William County police this week charged an Alexandria man in the slaying.

Osha Collier, 22, is the fifth person arrested in the killing of Matthew Ruane, 18, who was shot twice in the head April 29, 2002. Prosecutors last year dropped charges against three men who were arrested after the shooting. A fourth suspect -- Vincent White Jr., 21, of Lake Ridge -- is to go on trial Monday on a murder charge.

Police said Ruane was shot in an apparent robbery as he talked with friends outside his home. Collier rifled through Ruane's pockets after the victim was shot at close range, police said.

Collier was charged Tuesday with murder and use of a firearm, police said. He was in custody in Prince William on unrelated charges after being arrested by U.S. marshals in New York City.
