Highlights: In a game that ended three minutes into the second half because of an injury to striker Matthew Kline, the Wildcats' lone goal in the first half proved the difference.

Kline had been playing well in his forward position, as had Cameron Torreon, Chas Steffey, Zack Watts and Andrew Proulx. Goalie Alex Capousis had five saves. Brandon Tropea controlled the middle, assisted by Travis Proulx. Nick Cerverizzo, Adam Kubaryk, J.R Chapman, Jonathan Darrow, Patrick Ewing and Marc Ghirardelli anchored the defense.

Maryland Chill

The Maryland Chill 12U team went 4-2 to finish fourth at the NSA Early Bird tournament. Solid hitting and clutch defensive plays by Katie Gustafson led the Chill. Katie had a home run, a triple, five singles and seven RBI. Speedster Elle Marks had six stolen bases, five hits and four RBI. Emily Reider made several crucial defensive plays. The team had outstanding pitching performances by Casey O'Neill (2-1) and Stephanie Speierman (2-0).
