LA PLATA AREA

ARSON

GWYNN RD., 5:10 p.m. April 3. A soda bottle bomb was put into a mailbox.

POMFRET AREA

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY

MARSHALL CORNER RD., 7100 block, 10:16 p.m. March 28. A sign at the entrance to McDonough High School was damaged.

WALDORF AREA

HOMICIDE

HADLEY DR., 2700 block, 7:07 a.m. April 7. A woman, 31, was shot and killed while entering her residence.

ASSAULT

BARNSWALLOW PL., 11200 block, 8:06 p.m. April 7. A man, 35, assaulted a woman, 46, at a residence. He was charged with second-degree assault.

ROBBERIES

CENTRAL AVE., 11700 block, 11:20 p.m. April 1. The VanGo office was robbed by two people with a handgun and a knife.

OLD WASHINGTON RD., 3200 block, 3:52 a.m. April 6. A man, 38, and a woman, 32, were approached by two people while they sat in a parked vehicle. They were robbed of money and property.

VEHICLE THEFTS

BREWSTER RD., 2800 block, midnight to 7:25 a.m. April 2. A 1995 Chevrolet Caprice was stolen from a residence. The vehicle belongs to the Charles County sheriff's office and is equipped with a mobile radio, hand tools and crime lab equipment including suits, cameras, film, lights and fingerprint supplies.

WALDORF, 5 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 2. A 1989 Chevrolet Suburban was stolen from the Smallwood Park and Ride.

WHITE PLAINS AREA

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

DEMARR RD., 10700 block, 2:45 a.m. April 2. Several chain saws were stolen from the Lanham Cycle and Turf.
