Driving Hot Spots
Following is a selection of construction projects and road closures for the coming week.
1. Springfield interchange:
Two or more lanes might be closed 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
2. Bladensburg Road NE:
Lanes closed during non-rush-hour times weekdays and possibly Saturdays from Mount Olivet Road to New York Avenue through June 2004. Curb parking prohibited.
3. 16th Street NW:
Lanes will be closed 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Alaska Avenue and Primrose Road.
4. Anacostia Freeway:
Non-rush-hour, intermittent lane closures in effect daily between the District line and Chesapeake Street SW.
5. P Street NW:
Traffic restrictions and lane closures 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and occasional weekends on the bridge connecting Georgetown and Dupont Circle.
6. Capital Beltway (both loops):
One lane open in each direction at night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Thursday from Route 210 to Interstate 295 and from the Wilson Bridge to I-295.
7. Capital Beltway (both loops):
Right lane closed 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday between Telegraph Road and Route 1.
8. Rock Creek Parkway NW:
Exit to K Street closed for four months. Inbound parkway traffic will be detoured from Pennsylvania Avenue to 24th Street south to K Street.
9. Massachusetts Avenue NW:
Eastbound traffic will be detoured at Scott Circle to southbound 16th Street to eastbound L Street to eastbound Massachusetts Avenue.
10. Randolph Road:
Intermittent lane closures 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and possible nighttime hours between Georgia and New Hampshire avenues for milling and paving.
11. Wisconsin Avenue:
Two right lanes closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays from East West Highway and Jones Bridge Road.
12. Route 28:
Intermittent nighttime closures in both directions Monday through April 30 at Barnsfield Road.
The mezzanine at the Mount Vernon Square/Seventh Street-Convention Center station has opened.
