Frisbee Techniques

If you've always wanted to learn how to throw a Frisbee, the Annapolis Department of Recreation and Parks can help. The department will host "Have a Fling," a Frisbee-throwing workshop for students 10 and older, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Truxtun Park's Collinson Field, Hilltop Lane, Annapolis. The department will host another workshop May 22. The workshops will include instruction on the basic backhand throw, the overhand throw and the ground roll. Antiques Specialist to Give

Advice on Doing Research

Author, journalist and antiques specialist Nadja Maril will give a free talk titled "How to Research Your Own Antiques" at 7 p.m. next Thursday in Cafe Beaux Arts at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., Annapolis.

An appraisal clinic will be held immediately after the lecture. Appraisals cost $15 per item. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, a nonprofit organization that provides classes in dance, visual art and music for children and adults in Anne Arundel County. After-School Program

To Sponsor Job Fair

Academics, Etc., an after-school enrichment program, will host a job fair for interested instructors and site directors from 3:30 to 6 p.m. May 27 at Caribou Coffee in the Village at Waugh Chapel, Route 3, Gambrills. Academics, Etc., which serves students in Crofton-area elementary schools, wants to expand its after-school programs to elementary schools in Gambrills, Odenton, Davidsonville, Edgewater and Crownsville.

Instructors will teach courses in math, science, foreign languages, history, fine art, photography and cooking. Interested instructors should have experience working with children, and instructors will earn $40 per class or $240 for a six-week session. Call 410-721-6115 or visit www.academicsetc.com.

MVA to Close May 31

For Memorial Day

The state Motor Vehicle Administration will close its full-service and express offices May 31 in observance of Memorial Day. Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program stations will also be closed.
