CARL AVE., 600 block, 3:25 p.m. May 2. A man was assaulted and robbed of jewelry and cash by an acquaintance.

FURNACE BRANCH RD., 7400 block, 4:58 p.m. May 5. A male tried to buy cigarettes at a gas station but was refused by a clerk. He returned with another male who demanded cigars and cigarettes. When the clerk again refused, he was punched in the face, and three cigars were stolen.

RITCHIE HWY., 7700 block, 12:33 p.m. May 5. After a woman pulled a dollar from her coat pocket and gave it to a youth in a shopping center parking lot, the youth reached into her pocket and grabbed cash and other property and ran away.

ASSAULTS

GESSNA DR., 1400 block, 12:36 a.m. May 2. Police trying to clear a street of a large group of people saw a van strike another vehicle and keep going. When the van drove in the direction of officers assisting with crowd control, an officer fired a single bullet into the van. No injuries were reported. A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, failure to obey the lawful order of a police officer and driving while intoxicated.

ROBBERIES

FORT SMALLWOOD RD., 8800 block, 7:10 p.m. May 5. A man entered a gas station, placed a gun to a clerk's head and demanded money. When the clerk opened a cash register, the gunman grabbed cash and fled. Eleven minutes later, police arrested a 19-year-old Pasadena man in nearby woods behind a car lot. He was charged with armed robbery, assault and weapons violations. While searching the woods, police recovered money and a black Crossman BB gun that resembled a revolver.

RITCHIE HWY., 8400 block, 10:04 a.m. May 3. A man pointed a gun at a clerk in a gas station and took money from a cash register.
