EDUCATIONAL/SELF-HELP

The Alzheimer's Family Day Center classes for caregivers are geared to families and professionals who care for loved ones with an Alzheimer's-type illness. Free respite care is available for family members during the session. Karin Udler, help-line manager at Alzheimer's Association Northern Virginia Chapter, discusses community resources and assistance available to caregivers and families, noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Alzheimer's Family Day Center, 2812 Old Lee Hwy., Suite 210, Fairfax. The Cerebral Palsy Ability Center of Northern Virginia is sponsoring a "Walk 'n' Roll" fundraiser for its summer camp. Participants should collect pledges for distances walked or rolled. Participants with wheel chairs or other motorized methods will roll along in the middle of the track. The event will take place 1-3 p.m. Sunday at St. Stephen's and St. Agnes Upper School, 1000 St. Stephen's Rd., Alexandria. Registration costs $5 per participant and $15 maximum per family.
