Community Art Sought
Anne Arundel Community College's Cade Center for Fine Arts, 101 College Pkwy., Arnold, is seeking sculptures, paintings and mixed-media work for "Heliotrope Bouquet 6," the college's sixth annual community-centered art exhibit.
Artwork may be submitted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 1 and 2 and should be brought to the gallery ready for display. Each artist is allowed to submit up to two pieces. Works will be displayed from June 7 through July 16.

Fair Needs Derby Drivers
The Anne Arundel County Fair is accepting driver applications for its Demolition Derby Day, June 5, at the fairgrounds, 1450 General's Hwy., Crownsville. Drivers must be at least 16 years old. For more information visit the fair's Web site at www.aacountyfair.org or call 410-923-3400.
Four sheets of plywood and Sikaflex sealant are all contestants will have to build boats during the Annapolis Yacht Club's ninth annual Build-a-Boat challenge June 25-27 at the Yacht Club, 2 Compromise St., Annapolis.
The deadline for registration is Tuesday.
Contestants will have five hours June 26 to build their vessels. They will race the boats June 27. The race, set for 1:18 p.m., will commemorate the yacht club's 118th anniversary. Crownsville Video Planned
Sylvia Beall, Crownsville Hospital Center director of volunteer services, is looking for photographs, videos, newspaper articles and artifacts for a video on Crownsville's development from 1910 to the present.
The hospital is scheduled to close June 30. Beall will be accepting submissions until June 1.
