ROBBERIES

CONNECTICUT AVE., 8500 block, 4:50 to 4:55 a.m. May 4. A cash drawer was stolen from a business.

LENHART DR., 7200 block, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29. A residence was entered by kicking a door. Nothing was reported missing.

STONEHAM RD., 6400 block, 6:20 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. April 30. Cash and a fire safe were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

WISCONSIN AVE., 6800 block, 11 p.m. March 5 to 7:55 a.m. March 6. A man, 46, of no fixed address, who was arrested April 14 at a customs checkpoint in Miami, was charged May 7 with second-degree burglary in connection with an incident at the above location.

WOODSON AVE., 11100 block, 3:15 p.m. March 21. A Silver Spring resident, 15, was charged with first-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property in connection with an incident at the above location.

Germantown District

ROBBERIES

SAGE TERRACE AREA, 9 p.m. May 4. A man accosted a Germantown male cyclist, 50, implied he was armed with a gun, and robbed him of property.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ARCHDALE RD., 19300 block, 4:30 to 4:45 p.m. May 3. A school was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

CLOPPER RD., 13500 block, 3:30 to 3:50 p.m. April 30. A video camera was stolen from a business entered by forcing open a window.

DOCTORS DR., 19500 block, 9 p.m. April 30 to 8 a.m. May 3. A business was entered by prying a frame. Nothing was reported missing.

FLANAGAN LANE, 11100 block, 11:08 a.m. May 5. A camera and jewelry were stolen from a residence.

MOORE RD., 18300 block, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 27. A residence was entered by breaking a door. Nothing was reported missing.

STALEYBRIDGE DR., 19100 block, 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. May 5. A TV, a stereo and a camera were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a window.

Gaithersburg District

ASSAULTS

WOODFIELD AND EXODUS ROADS, 10:30 p.m. May 11. Police stopped a motorist reported to be a drunken driver. The motorist got out of his vehicle, began firing at the officer and fled to the woods. Back-up police responded and one of the officers was struck in the torso by gunfire. A Maryland State Police helicopter located the body of a New Market man, 51, reported to be the gunman. Police say he died of a self-inflicted, close-range gunshot wound. The wounded police officer was treated for a bruise to his torso at a local hospital and released.

ROBBERIES

FREDERICK RD. N., 200 block, 10:30 a.m. April 29. Two women spoke to a female pedestrian, 39, of Gaithersburg, and they all went to a store where the two women met a male acquaintance. When the pedestrian attempted to leave, one of the women pulled out a knife and robbed her of cash.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

RUSSELL AVE., 700 block, 1:30 p.m. May 2. A man in a restroom exposed himself to others.

Rockville District

ROBBERIES

SHADY GROVE METRO STATION, A male passenger on a bus attempted to steal a booklet of transfer tickets from the bus driver, 34, and after a struggle, the male stabbed the driver in the leg and fled. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

AVENEL FARM DR., 9900 block, 2 to 2:30 a.m. April 30. A residence was entered through a pet door. Nothing was reported missing.

CARTWRIGHT WAY, 14500 block, 5 a.m. April 24 to 11:30 p.m. May 3. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door.

PARKLAWN DR., 11700 block, 3:30 a.m. May 6. A business was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 11200 block. A Brinklow-area woman, 33, was charged May 5 with theft scheme over $500 and identity theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

SHADY GROVE RD., 15200 block, 6:40 p.m. April 30 to 8:20 a.m. May 1. A laptop computer and accessories were stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

ROLLINS AVE., 900 block, 9:25 a.m. May 9. Police checked a vehicle occupied by two men, which was allegedly illegally parked, and found it had been reported stolen May 2 from Takoma Park. A Takoma Park man, 21 and a Rockville man, 26, were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, second-degree assault, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft under $500, auto theft and theft of a credit card. Additionally, the older man was charged with theft over $500, traffic charges and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Silver Spring District

ROBBERIES

COLGATE WAY, 13600 block, midnight May 4. Two men accosted a Silver Spring woman, 44, getting out of a vehicle and robbed her of a purse at gunpoint.

OUTLET DR., 13800 block, 2:44 p.m. May 5. A man robbed a bank of cash at gunpoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ELTON RD., 1700 block, 11:30 p.m. April 30 to 1:39 p.m. May 3. A computer and a printer were stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

HAMPSHIRE WEST CT., 1400 block, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 4. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door.

LETTERKENNEY CT., 14200 block, 8 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. April 28. A residence was entered by breaking a door. Nothing was reported missing.

PINE TOP LANE, 15000 block, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 28. Jewelry was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door.

RICHMOND AVE., 800 block, 6 p.m. April 21 to 12:30 p.m. May 2. Power tools were stolen from a residence entered through a garage door.

THAYER AVE., 500 block, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 3. Cash was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door.

Glenmont District

ROBBERIES

CHERRY HILL RD., 12000 block, 3:40 a.m. Oct. 26, 2003. A Landover man, 29, was charged May 7 with armed robbery in connection with an incident at the above location.

GRANDVIEW AVENUE AND WISEMAN ROAD, 8:25 p.m. May 1. Three men in a vehicle drove up to a Silver Spring male pedestrian, 29, and one of the passengers armed with a gun, pulled the pedestrian into the car. The men drove to Shorefield Road and demanded cash and a wallet from the pedestrian and pushed him out of the vehicle.

VEIRS MILL ROAD AND GEORGIA AVENUE, 7:45 p.m. April 29. A man implied he was armed with a gun and robbed a Silver Spring resident, 17, and two other pedestrians of property.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CENTERGATE DR., 15100 block, 12:30 p.m. April 30 to 9:30 p.m. May 2. Cash and a fire extinguisher were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

JUDSON RD., 12300 block, 7:45 to 8:15 p.m. April 28. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

LAYHILL RD., 12700 5 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 29. A video game system and games and a DVD player were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a door.

STONEGATE DR., 300 block, 1 p.m. April 29 to 10:30 a.m. May 1. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

INDECENT EXPOSURE

ASPEN HILL SHOPPING CENTER, 3:30 p.m. April 25. A man got out of a vehicle, opened his coat and exposed himself to a Bethesda boy, 11, inside a vehicle. The boy blew the horn of the vehicle and the man returned to his vehicle and drove away.

DEER MEADOW LANE, 200 block, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5. Cash, a surveillance camera and a purse were stolen from a residence.

HUNGERFORD DR., 500 block. A Gaithersburg man, 28, was charged May 7 with theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

HUNGERFORD DR., 900 block, 10:30 p.m. May 6 to 11 a.m. May 7. Cash was stolen from a safe.

KING FARM BLVD., 300 block, 8 a.m. April 30 to 7 a.m. May 6. Sixty recess lights were stolen from a construction site.

KING FARM BLVD., 700 block, 5 p.m. April 30 to 6:50 a.m. May 2. Offices were entered by forcing open doors. Nothing was reported missing.

MARTINS LANE, 300 block, 3 p.m. May 5 to 8:30 a.m. May 7. A wheel of a lawnmower was stolen from a storage shed.

PICCARD DR., 1300 block, 2:06 to 2:55 a.m. May 5. Four flat-screen computer monitors, five laptop computers, a digital camera, a model car and a trashcan were stolen from a business entered by forcing open a door.

RESEARCH BLVD., 1800 block, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 6. A wallet was stolen from a purse and another wallet was stolen from a briefcase.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1700 block, 8:25 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. May 4. Clothing, a pair of earrings and a pair of sunglasses were stolen from a business.

VEIRS MILL RD., 200 block, midnight to 10:40 a.m. May 6. Cash, CDs, three cases of beverages were stolen from a business entered by breaking a door.

VEIRS MILL RD., 2000 block. A man, 30, of no fixed address, was charged May 8 with theft in connection with an incident at the above location.

VANDALISM

ARDENNES AVE., 13100 block. Three Rockville youths, two ages 12, and one age 13, were charged May 8 with malicious destruction of property in connection with an incident at the above location.

Takoma Park

ROBBERIES

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 7600 block, 9:15 p.m. May 7. A male accosted a man at an ATM and a second male punched the man and took his bank card. The robbers fled. The man sought medical attention at a hospital.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1100 block, 9 p.m. May 8. Three males near a bus stop accosted a man and demanded cash. The man refused and one of the males cut him on the finger, then the robbers fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

MAPLE AVE., 7600 block, 3:35 p.m. May 11. Police discovered tags on a vehicle were issued to another vehicle. Three males were arrested.
