Driving Hot Spots
Here is a selection of road advisories. Weather and equipment availability can affect timing.
1. Springfield interchange:
Two or more lanes might be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to noon Fridays.
2. Chain Bridge:
Right lane closed overnight from Virginia to the District.
3. North Capitol Street:
One lane closed in each direction between Michigan Avenue and Buchanan Street.
4. 10th Street NW:
Closed between E and F streets for four to six weeks.
5. I-395/Center Leg Freeway:
Two lanes closed in each direction from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays.
6. Capital Beltway (inner loop):
Two right lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday between River Road and Wisconsin Avenue.
7. Capital Beltway (inner loop):
Two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Saturday from Georgia Avenue to Connecticut Avenue.
8. Capital Beltway (both loops):
Some lanes closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily between the I-270 spur and Fernwood Road.
9. Route 202:
Two left lanes closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday between Route 450 and Route 50.
10. George Washington Memorial Parkway:
Alternating lane closures in both directions from 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday between Belle Haven and Hunting Creek Bridge.
11. Baltimore-Washington Parkway:
Some southbound lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday between the Capital Beltway and the District line.
12. Annapolis Road:
Two left lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Saturday between 65th Avenue and Riverdale Road.
13. Veirs Mill Road:
Eastbound lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Saturday between Gridley and Sampson roads and two eastbound lanes closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Saturday between Twinbrook Parkway and Arbutus Avenue; all lanes closed in both directions from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Saturday at Ferrara Avenue and Gail Place and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Saturday between Busy Drive and Gridley Road.
Beginning Monday, Metro will limit the number of tokens sold to 20 (two bags) per customer transaction.
