Regional Hospice to Host

Grief Support Group

Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, will host a six-week bereavement support group for people grieving the loss of a loved one. The group will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays June 8 through July 13. Registration is $25, and the registration deadline is June 4. Hospice of the Chesapeake is a nonprofit organization that offers bereavement and hospice care services in Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties. For more information, call 410-987-2129.

Annapolis Film Festival

Seeks Student Participants

The Annapolis Film Festival is looking for high school students to participate in its summer 2004 Budding Filmmaker Program. The program, to be held at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, gives students the chance to learn how to make digital films. Students' efforts will be shown Nov. 4-7 at the festival. Women in Industry Tribute

To Be Held Next Thursday

This year's Tribute to Women in Industry awards banquet will be held at 6 p.m. next Thursday at the Sheraton Barcelo Hotel, 173 Jennifer Rd., Annapolis. Sponsored by the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, the dinner pays tribute to women who have made significant contributions to the business industry as members of top-level management. Golf Tournament to Raise

Funds for Arthritis Group

The Southern Maryland Branch of the Arthritis Foundation is looking for participants for its Get Teed Off at Arthritis golf tournament, to be held June 18 at the Renditions Golf Course, 1380 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville. Individual registration is $250; a foursome can register for $900. Proceeds will support the Southern Maryland Branch of the Arthritis Foundation, which serves Anne Arundel, Calvert, St. Mary's and Charles counties. To Close for Memorial Day

Anne Arundel County's Millersville Landfill and Resource Recovery Facility and Glen Burnie Convenience Center will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Administrative offices will also be closed; recycling, trash and yard waste will not be collected. Customers may put out twice the usual amount of trash next Thursday, the next trash collection day. Customers may also take recyclables to the Millersville Convenience Center, 389 Burns Crossing Rd., Severn, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or to the Sudley Convenience Center, 5400 Nutwell Sudley Rd., Deale, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call the Department of Public Works at 410-222-1821 or visit its Web site at www.aacounty.org/DPW.
