SEXUAL ASSAULTS

RIFFLEFORD ROAD AND ROUTE 118, 7:25 a.m. May 16. A man ran up behind a Germantown female jogger, 42, grabbed her buttocks and fled.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CHURCHILL RIDGE CIR., 12900 block, 6 a.m. May 6 to 7 p.m. May 7. A handgun was stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

CRYSTAL ROCK DR., 19500 block, 9 a.m. to 6:40 p.m. May 4. Camera equipment was stolen from a residence.

TRALEE TER,. 10500 block, 6 p.m. May 1 to 6 p.m. May 2. An attempt was made to enter a residence by forcing a door.

Gaithersburg District

ASSAULTS

KING JAMES WAY, 17000 block, 2 p.m. May 16. Police responded to a call and found a male suffering from multiple stab wounds. Fire and rescue personnel took him to a local hospital for treatment. A woman, 44, of no fixed address was charged with first-degree assault.

ROBBERIES

MUDDY BRANCH RD., 300 block, 8:58 p.m. May 11. A male in a shopping center wrapped his arms around the neck of a Gaithersburg man, 43, and robbed him of cash.

ODENDHAL AVENUE AND LOST KNIFE ROAD, 1 a.m. May 11. Two males beat a Silver Spring man, 50, with their hands and feet and went through his pockets and found nothing. The assailants fled and the man was taken to Suburban Hospital for treatment.

PROFESSIONAL DR., 200 block, 11:30 p.m. May 17. A passenger in a taxi who was picked up at the above location held a knife to the neck of the male taxi driver in the 400 block of Christopher Dr. and demanded cash. After a struggle inside the cab, the driver blew the horn and the robber fled. The driver, age 48, was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries.

BRIGHTON TER., 1 to 100 block, 11 a.m. May 1 to 5 p.m. May 4. An attempt was made to enter a residence by forcing a door.

CLOPPER RD., 900 block, 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 5. Cash and a video game system and games were stolen from a residence.

QUINCE ORCHARD BLVD., 700 block, 8 to 9 p.m. May 5. A residence was entered by forcing a door. Nothing was reported missing.

SHERATON ST., 2700 block. A Gaithersburg man, 24, was charged May 7 with fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in connection with an incident at the above location.

SUMMIT AVE. N., 1 to 100 block, 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. May 1. A video game system and games and a pair of shoes were stolen from a residence entered by forcing open a door.

WEST SIDE DR., 700 block, 7 to 11 a.m. May 7. A video game system and games and clothing were stolen from a residence.

ROBBERIES

DEMOCRACY BLVD., 7100 block, 12:05 p.m. May 6. Two males forced an Alexandria man, 40, to the ground and robbed him of a wallet and other property. The man reportedly refused medical treatment for a bruised jaw.

RANDOLPH RD., 4300 block, 6:15 p.m. May 8. A man armed with a knife, forced a Rockville woman, 38, to the ground and robbed her of cash.

ALTA OAKS DR., 14200 block, 2:22 a.m. May 10. A business was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

CHILAM PL., 2300 block, 1:50 to 2:03 p.m. May 7. A residence was entered. Nothing was reported missing.

CRABBS BRANCH WAY, 15700 block, 2 p.m. May 4 to 4 p.m. May 7. Chairs, furniture pads and recycle containers were stolen from a self-storage unit.

TRAVILAH RD. E., 12900 block, 2:21 a.m. May 10. Cigars were stolen from a store.

TRAVILLE GATEWAY, 9700 block, 7:30 p.m. May 9 to 2:20 a.m. May 10. An attempt was made to enter two businesses by forcing a door.

HOMICIDES

LOCKWOOD DR., 11200 block, 7:50 p.m. May 15. Police responding to a bus shelter at the above location found a boy suffering from a stab wound. Djafar Nzeza, 17, of Silver Spring was taken to the Medstar Unit of the Washington Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead. A Silver Spring youth, 15, was charged with murder.

ASSAULTS

STEWART LANE, 11500 block, 8 p.m. May 7. During an argument, a male stabbed a Silver Spring man, 23. The man was transported to an area hospital and treated for injuries.

ROBBERIES

CONNECTICUT AVE., 13600 block, 9:40 p.m. May 9. Two men in a shopping center, one armed with a pipe, robbed a Rockville man, 27, of cash.

BONIFANT ST., 800 block, 1 p.m. May 9. Lawn equipment was stolen from a residence entered through a garage.

DEERFIELD AVE., 600 block, May 4 to 6:30 a.m. May 6. Cash and movies were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

LAYHILL RD., 14300 block, 3:30 to 6:57 p.m. April 25. A Silver Spring man, 51, was charged May 10 with indecent exposure in connection with an incident at the above location.

PICCARD DR., 1600 block, 5 p.m. May 8 to 6:30 a.m. May 10. Sheets of plywood were stolen from a construction site.

PLEASANT DR., 900 block, 5:30 p.m. May 7 to 8 a.m. May 10. Fireplace grills were stolen from a construction site.

PRESERVE PKWY., 1 to 100 block, 9 to 9:15 p.m. May 10. A purse was stolen.

ROCKVILLE PIKE, 1600 block, 8 a.m. Feb. 1 to midnight May 10. A Silver Spring man, 20, was charged with theft in connection with incidents at the above location.

SHADY GROVE RD., 14900 block, 7:30 May 7 to 8:30 a.m. May 10. A business was entered by forcing open a door. Nothing was reported missing.

TWINBROOK PKWY., 12700 block, 5:30 p.m. May 11 to 8 a.m. May 12. Laptop computers were stolen from two offices.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

VEIRS MILL ROAD AND FIRST STREET, 10:45 p.m. May 16. A Kensington resident, 16, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft, resisting arrest, theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and rogue and vagabond following a traffic stop that took place at the above intersection.

VANDALISM

UPTON ST., 200 block. A Silver Spring woman, 24, was charged May 11 with destruction of property, resisting arrest and providing a false statement in connection with an incident at the above location.
