To Hold Writing Seminar

The Cultural Arts Foundation will host a round-table seminar on writing at 2 p.m. Saturday in Room 306, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase St., Annapolis. The free seminar is part of the city's Artworks celebration and will feature lectures and discussions with Patrick O'Connell, three-term president of the Maryland Writers' Association; Baltimore writer Scott Morrow; Dennis Kleppick, author of the traditional western "Red Sand"; and award-winning freelance writer Vicki Meade. Attention! Naval Academy Plans Boot Camp for Kids

The Naval Academy will host "The Navy Way" boot camp for children 6 to 12 from 9:30 a.m. to noon June 26, July 24 and Aug. 21. Participants will receive a sailor's hat and learn about naval terms, how to march and what it means to follow orders. Camp graduates will receive a certificate. Arts Council Taking

Applications for Grants

The Maryland State Arts Council is accepting applications for ARTvantage, a new program that provides grants to nonprofit arts organizations, colleges and universities and to nonprofit, non-arts organizations. The program is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and will provide grants of $5,000 to $20,000 from July 1 to June 30, 2005. Applications are due by June 10. YMCA Camp Letts Seeks

Campers for Adventures

The YMCA Camp Letts, 4003 Camp Letts Rd., Edgewater, is accepting applications for overnight adventure camps for children ages 8 to 16. Camp activities include sailing, boating, canoeing, horseback riding, water skiing, swimming, arts and crafts and dance. Mini-, one- and two-week camp sessions will be held June 20 to 25, June 27 to July 9, July 11 to 23, July 25 to Aug. 6, Aug. 8 to 20 and Aug. 22 to 27. Registration for mini-camps is $610.
