HOMICIDES

ORLEANS PL., 600 block, 8:05 p.m. May 16. An unidentified male was found in an alley with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office, where he was pronounced dead.

RHODE ISLAND AVE., 3000 block, 12:34 a.m. May 18. Nathaniel Jenkins, 45, of the 500 block of Park Road NW, was found on a street with stab wounds. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:32 a.m.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

OTIS ST., 3:05 p.m. May 17. A male sexually assaulted a female in a residence.

ROBBERIES

BENNING RD., 2600 block, 3:20 p.m. May 15. A male assaulted a male and robbed him of a motorized scooter.

CLAY ST., 3400 block, 11:10 p.m. May 19. A gunman robbed a male in a parking area of a wallet.

H ST., 1000 block, 3:30 p.m. May 20. A male robbed a pedestrian of property.

HAYES ST., 4600 block, 10 to 10:15 p.m. May 18. A male assaulted a female motorist and robbed her of a purse and jewelry.

MARYLAND AVE., 600 block, 7:55 a.m. May 9. A male snatched property from a pedestrian and fled in a vehicle.

MARYLAND AVE., 1800 block, 10:45 p.m. May 19. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of cash and jewelry and fled with two male accomplices.

MINNESOTA AVE., 3900 block, 8:15 p.m. May 15. A male with a knife robbed a male of a bicycle and fled with a male accomplice.

RHODE ISLAND AVE., 600 block, 7:48 p.m. May 16. Several people assaulted a male in an alley and robbed him of jewelry.

RHODE ISLAND AVE. AND FRANKLIN ST., 1:20 a.m. May 15. Three males assaulted four pedestrians and robbed them of cell phones, a wallet and a hat.

FIRST ST., 600 block, 8:55 p.m. May 16. A male snatched property from a pedestrian.

SECOND ST. AND RANDOLPH PL., 9:10 a.m. May 17. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of a wallet containing cash.

THIRD ST., 600 block, 8:10 p.m. May 16. A male robbed a pedestrian of property from a purse and fled with two male accomplices.

SIXTH AND K STREETS, 5:10 to 5:30 p.m. May 14. A male assaulted a male pedestrian with a stick and robbed him of property, then fled with a male accomplice.

56TH ST., 500 block, 12:05 to 12:15 a.m. May 16. Several males forced a driver and a passenger from a vehicle and robbed them of keys and a cell phone.

BLADENSBURG RD., 3200 block, 11 p.m. May 16 to 7 a.m. May 17. A restaurant was entered by forcing a rear security door and ransacked.

CAPITOL AVE., 1700 block, 12:50 to 1:45 p.m. May 18. A drill was stolen from a residence by a male intruder who fled when a resident called police.

MICHIGAN AVE., 200 block, 7 p.m. May 15 to 3 a.m. May 16. Cigarettes and beer were stolen from a grocery store entered by smashing a glass door.

NICHOLSON ST., 600 block, 8:20 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. May 17. A dog was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a back door.

T ST., 200 block, noon May 15 to 12:35 a.m. May 16. A stereo, a DVD player and other property were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

TAYLOR ST., 400 block, 12:30 to 4 p.m. May 15. Two video game consoles were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a rear window.

TRINIDAD AVE., 1500 block, 10:30 p.m. May 18 to 7 a.m. May 19. Cash was stolen from a residence entered through an open patio window.

TRINIDAD AVE., 1600 block, noon May 17 to 6 p.m. May 19. Tools and a TV were stolen from residence by a male who entered by forcing a side window.

W ST., 1600 block, 7:30 p.m. May 13 to 4 a.m. May 14. Radios were stolen from a construction site.

NINTH ST., 400 block, 1:30 to 9 p.m. May 18. Property was stolen from a residence entered through a basement window.

11TH ST., 300 block, 1 p.m. May 19. Property was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

17TH PL., 1000 block, 12:30 p.m. May 14. Two males took speakers, a digital camera, a keyboard, a computer and a printer from an apartment.

25TH PL., 3800 block, 5 p.m. May 12 to noon May 14. Bedding, speakers, a DVD-VCR unit, a TV and a printer were stolen from a residence.

45TH ST., 1000 block, 10 p.m. May 19 to 4 a.m. May 20. Food was stolen from a school entered by cutting a screen and breaking a rear window.

49TH ST., 900 block, 3 to 7:30 p.m. May 19. A video game console was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

51ST ST., 200 block, 3 p.m. May 15 to 5 a.m. May 17. A TV was stolen from a residence entered by forcing a front door.

Northwest

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

P ST., 1300 block, 6:50 p.m. May 14. A man touched a female's chest in a park. Another male hit the female's companion in the face. A man, 37, and another male were arrested.

SHERIDAN ST., 300 block, 11 to 11:35 p.m. May 15. A man picked up a passenger at Southern Avenue and Wheeler Road in Maryland, offering the person a ride home. He drove to Sheridan Street, forced the passenger out of the vehicle and sexually assaulted the person.

ROBBERIES

CALIFORNIA ST., 1800 block, 3 a.m. May 16. Two gunmen robbed two pedestrians of items from two purses.

COLORADO AVE., 5500 block, 2:35 to 2:40 a.m. May 17. Two men demanded cash from a 39-year-old male pedestrian, then fled when he said he was going to call police.

COLORADO AVE., 5700 block, 1:30 p.m. May 18. A person took a female acquaintance's cell phone during an argument. The female's face was injured during the incident.

FAIRMONT ST., 1000 block, midnight May 15. A pizza deliveryman was struck from behind and robbed of a pizza. A man and a female teenager fled on foot with the pizza.

IRVING ST., 1400 block, 11:53 p.m. May 17. A man snatched a cell phone from a male in an apartment building and fled to stairs with another man.

KILBOURNE PL., 1600 block, 3:40 to 4 a.m. May 15. A man robbed a male pedestrian of a wallet at knife point.

MERIDIAN PL., 1400 block, 2:25 a.m. May 16. Two males sat on opposite sides of the entrance to a building. When a female passed, one snatched her purse containing a cell phone and a passport, then fled with the other male.

ONTARIO RD., 1800 block, 11 p.m. May 17. Two males approached a couple sitting in front of a building. One showed a gun and said, "Give me your wallet or I'll kill your girlfriend." He took the male's wallet, and his accomplice took the female's purse.

OTIS PL., 600 block, 1:40 a.m. May 17. A male teenager held a gun to a male pedestrian's head and demanded cash. Another male teenager held a knife to the pedestrian's neck and took a check from his pocket.

P ST., 1600 block, 2:15 to 2:20 a.m. May 16. A man snatched a purse containing credit cards, keys and a license from a male pedestrian.

PARK RD., 1300 block, 2:30 a.m. May 16. Two men asked a male for money outside an apartment building. The male said he had none and began to walk inside. One of the men showed a knife and chased him to his apartment. The other man attacked the resident. The two fled with a watch, a radio, a bicycle, a leather box and videotapes.

QUARRY RD., 2700 block, 8:40 p.m. May 18. A male teenager demanded cash from a pedestrian. The pedestrian refused, and the teenager punched him in the face before fleeing with two other male teenagers.

QUINCY ST., 700 block, noon May 19. A man asked a 22-year-old female pedestrian to come to his vehicle. He asked her age and told her to get into the car. She refused. The man then robbed her of cash at gunpoint.

RIGGS PL., 1800 block, 11:05 p.m. May 19. A male grabbed a purse containing seven credit cards and keys from a female in an alley.

ROCK CREEK CHURCH RD., 800 block, 12:15 a.m. May 15. A man grabbed a pedestrian by the arm and turned him toward a wall, then robbed him of a wallet, an ID and cash.

LAMONT ST., 1-99 block, 12:10 p.m. May 20. Three male teenagers were involved in a robbery outdoors. A set of keys was taken.

UPSHUR ST., 1200 block, 9 p.m. May 15. Two boys robbed another boy of tennis shoes at gunpoint.

W ST., 1400 block, 11:20 to 11:21 a.m. May 7. Three men knocked a pedestrian down, and one took his wallet and another took a gold chain from his neck. The three fled on foot.

WISCONSIN AVE., 5300 block, 1:30 p.m. May 14. A female saw a man reach into her purse in a restaurant but did not see him remove anything. She later realized a credit card was missing.

FIFTH AND M STREETS, 2 to 2:02 a.m. May 20. Three men were involved in a robbery on a sidewalk.

NINTH ST., 1800 block, 1:55 a.m. May 18. A man demanded cash from a pedestrian at gunpoint. The pedestrian refused. Another man grabbed the pedestrian and took his wallet. A cell phone was also taken.

11TH ST., 3300 block, 4:45 to 4:50 a.m. May 17. A man robbed a male pedestrian of a wallet, an ID and a Social Security card at knifepoint in an alley.

14TH STREET AND COLUMBIA ROAD, 9:30 p.m. May 15. Several people assaulted a pedestrian and took property from his pocket.

14TH ST., 3000 block, 10:36 p.m. May 14. While a male youth stood in front of a building asking an adult to buy him alcohol, several people accosted him. The male was hit in the face several times, and his backpack and cash were taken.

14TH ST., 3000 block, 4:30 to 4:37 p.m. May 20. A man grabbed a female pedestrian by the hair and took her wallet and keys.

14TH ST., 3500 block, 7 p.m. May 14. A man robbed a male of cash at gunpoint in an alley. The robber fled with two other males.

15TH ST., 1800 block, 3:05 p.m. May 14. A man told a pedestrian not to move because he was stepping on the man's glasses. The pedestrian then felt a hand reaching into his pocket and saw another man holding his wallet. The two men fled together on foot.

16TH ST., 3200 block, 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. May 16. A man demanded cash from a male pedestrian at knifepoint. The pedestrian fled. A man, 21, was arrested.

17TH ST., 3200 block, 3:30 a.m. May 15. A man and a woman tried to rob a pedestrian at knife point, but the pedestrian did not comply. The man and woman fled on foot.

18TH ST. AND ONTARIO RD., 11:10 p.m. May 16. Two male teenagers demanded cash from a pedestrian. The pedestrian said he had none, then tripped and fell. A third male teenager approached with a bat. A cell phone was taken.

18TH ST., 2200 block, 10:10 p.m. May 14. A man approached a female pedestrian from behind, grabbed her arm and forced her to the ground. He took her purse, containing a cell phone and credit cards, then fled on foot.

18TH ST., 2300 block, 3:35 p.m. May 19. A gunman entered a convenience store and told a cashier to put his hands up and get down on the floor, then took cash.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

BLAIR RD., 7200 block, 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17. A camera tote bag was taken from a house entered by forcing a door connecting a garage to the house.

COLUMBIA RD., 1700 block, 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 14. Cash and gold chains were taken from an apartment.

DEXTER ST., 4400 block, 4 to 4:15 a.m. May 16. A home was buglarized. An arrest was made.

DEXTER ST., 4600 block, 2:39 to 2:54 a.m. May 16. Windows, light fixtures, bathroom fixtures, tile, drywall and a banister were taken from a home. An arrest was made.

EAST BEACH DR., 8100 block, 8:10 to 11 a.m. May 18. A home was entered by forcing a front door. A rear door was also kicked in. An alarm sounded, and nothing was reported taken.

EUCLID ST., 900 block, 10:50 a.m. May 18. A man cut a hole in a kitchen window screen and entered a home. A resident surprised him, and, after a struggle, the burglar escaped with keys and auto mechanic tools.

K ST., 2100 block, 2 to 4:40 a.m. May 19. A radio was taken from an office building entered through a rear window.

K ST., 1-99 block, 3:30 p.m. May 18 to 10 p.m. May 19. A steam iron, dress shoes, a phone, a drill, a skill saw and a screwdriver set were taken from a home.

KINGMAN PL., 1500 block, 1:40 to 3 p.m. May 15. A mountain bike was taken from a garage left with its door open.

LAMONT ST., 1100 block, 12:15 p.m. May 19. A man walked past security personnel at an apartment building by posing as a fire inspector. Once inside, he broke into a locked file cabinet on the second floor and took a gold watch.

M ST., 3200 block, 12:58 p.m. May 15. A wallet and a cell phone were taken from a shopping cart in a grocery store.

NEBRASKA AVE., 5100 block, 9 to 11:30 a.m. May 18. Medicine was taken from a home.

ROCK CREEK FORD RD., 1400 block, 5 to 5:15 a.m. May 16. A man pried open a laundry room door in an apartment building and pried locks on vending machines. He took various items.

SHERMAN AVE., 2900 block, 6 to 6:20 p.m. May 15. A man forced open an apartment window and destroyed property.

SPRING PL., 1500 block, 9:30 a.m. to noon May 19. A person heard loud noises from a house and discovered that a rear door had been forced open with a crowbar.

SECOND ST., 1800 block, 3:30 a.m. May 15. A woman kicked in a glass door and entered a home. A resident told her to leave, and she punched the resident. A woman, 31, was arrested.

THIRD PL., 5800 block, noon April 30. An air conditioner was taken from a construction site entered through a basement door.

FOURTH ST., 1200 block, 4:30 p.m. May 17 to 9 a.m. May 18. A generator was taken from a construction site.

FIFTH ST., 1300 block, 11 p.m. May 14 to 4 p.m. May 15. Property was taken from a public housing project entered through a bedroom window.

11TH ST., 2700 block, 4:22 to 8:35 a.m. May 17. A man broke into a home and entered a bedroom. A resident fled. Another resident called 911, and the man left.

13TH ST., 2500 block, 2 to 7:30 p.m. May 17. Jewelry was taken from a home entered through an open second-floor window.

13TH ST., 3400 block, 10:26 p.m. May 16. While taking out trash, a female saw a male crawling on the floor of her neighbor's basement office. The male said, "Hey lady." The female ran back to her home, and the male crawled out of a window and ran through an alley.

13TH ST., 3500 block, noon May 15 to 9:15 a.m. May 16. A fax machine and a cordless drill were taken from a home entered by prying a front door.

13TH ST., 3500 block, noon March 22 to 4 p.m. May 19. A travel bag, two TVs, a leather coat and other property were taken from a home entered by prying a front door.

14TH ST., 500 block, 6 p.m. May 14 to 3:40 p.m. May 16. A video camera and other items were taken from three offices whose doors were forced open.

14TH ST., 1900 block, 3 to 10:15 a.m. May 16. Property was taken from a restaurant entered by prying a rear door.

14TH ST., 3800 block, 5:30 p.m. May 14. A woman entered a home through an unlocked window and took a CD player, tools, a suitcase and clothes.

16TH ST., 1400 block, 8 p.m. May 14 to 7 a.m. May 17. A credit card was taken from an office building entered by prying a side door.

16TH ST., 3100 block, 7:30 p.m. May 17 to 8 a.m. May 18. A cell phone and other items were taken from a government building.

37TH AND O STREETS, 3:40 to 4 a.m. May 17. Two men, 20 and 23, were arrested in connection with a theft or break-in at a university.

HOMICIDES

BURNS ST., 300 block, 11:15 a.m. May 15. Terence Hairston, 38, of the 300 block of Burns Street SE, was found in a residence with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office, where he was pronounced dead at 1:38 p.m.

10TH PL., 3400 block, 2:55 p.m. May 20. An unidentified male was found in an apartment with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

SEXUAL ASSAULTS

A ST., 12:01 to 12:38 p.m. May 16. A boy sexually assaulted a female youth in a residence. A boy, 15, was arrested.

12TH ST. AND ALABAMA AVE., 8:30 to 9 p.m. May 19. Three males forced a female pedestrian into a vehicle and sexually assaulted her.

ROBBERIES

ATLANTIC ST., 500 block, 11 a.m. May 19. A man assaulted and robbed a female acquaintance in a residence. A man, 22, was arrested.

B ST., 3400 block, 12:15 to 12:22 a.m. May 20. Three males assaulted a pedestrian and took a wallet and a cell phone.

BARNABY RD., 4300 block, 11:27 p.m. May 14. A gunman demanded cash from a pedestrian. The pedestrian said he had none and was shot in the knee.

BRUCE PL., 2700 block, 9:39 p.m. May 19. A man with a knife demanded property from a male pedestrian. The pedestrian was stabbed when he said he had nothing.

CHESAPEAKE ST., 600 block, 6:25 p.m. May 16. A male assaulted a convenience store employee and took ice cream from a freezer.

GOOD HOPE RD., 1300 block, 9:38 p.m. May 17. A gunman and a male accomplice attempted to rob a male pedestrian. The pedestrian was shot in the leg when he fled.

GOOD HOPE RD., 2400 block, 6:41 to 6:52 p.m. May 19. A male robbed a pedestrian of a purse containing a wallet.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE., 2900 block, 9:30 p.m. May 19. A male snatched property from a female in a convenience store.

SOUTHERN AVE., 3000 block, 4:55 a.m. May 17. A gunman robbed a male pedestrian of property.

TALBERT ST., 1200 block, 10 p.m. May 19. A male assaulted and robbed a female acquaintance.

21ST ST., 3400 block, 11:15 p.m. May 6. A male assaulted a female acquaintance with a hammer and robbed her of property.

ALABAMA AVE., 2400 block, 12:05 p.m. May 13 to 12:30 a.m. May 14. Property was stolen from an apartment entered by forcing a rear door.

HILLSIDE RD., 4600 block, 10:10 to 10:16 p.m. May 19. Keys, a cell phone and a telephone were taken from an apartment by a male who assaulted a female resident before he fled.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AVE., 2000 block, 5 p.m. May 14 to 9 a.m. May 16. Computers, a DVD player, a TV-VCR unit, a fax machine and a copier were stolen from a residence entered by prying a front door.

MOUNT VIEW PL., 2200 block, 9:30 a.m. April 27 to 3 p.m. May 14. DVDs, games, a computer, a printer and a video game console were stolen from a residence.

SAVANNAH TER , 2200 block, 5 p.m. May 4 to 1 a.m. May 13. DVDs, clothes, a TV and a DVD player were stolen from an apartment entered after a fire was extinguished.

SOUTH CAROLINA AVE., 200 block, 10 p.m. May 20. Property was stolen from a residence entered by smashing a side window.

SOUTH CAROLINA AVE., 1200 block, 1 p.m. May 15 to 5:20 p.m. May 16. A residence was entered by removing an air conditioner from a window.

STEVENS RD., 1100 block, 3:30 p.m. April 21 to 2 p.m. May 16. A TV was stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

WAGNER ST., 2400 block, 10:41 p.m. May 15. Two males entered an apartment by breaking a window, then fled when a resident screamed.

SEVENTH ST., 4200 block, 7:30 p.m. May 14 to 12:01 a.m. May 15. A safe, a DVD-VCR unit, a karaoke machine and a comforter were stolen from an apartment entered by breaking a bedroom window.

NINTH ST., 3700 block, 5 p.m. May 16 to 7:30 p.m. May 18. Furniture, a TV, a microwave oven and a jacket were stolen from an apartment entered by forcing a front door.

16TH ST., 200 block, 4 p.m. April 30 to 8 p.m. May 13. A residence was entered by forcing a door.

19TH ST., 3500 block, 9 p.m. May 18 to 2:30 a.m. May 19. Property was stolen from an apartment entered by forcing a bedroom window.

28TH ST., 1600 block, 2 a.m. May 17 to 1 a.m. May 19. A lawn-care device was stolen from a storage facility entered by forcing a door.

BLUE PLAINS DR., 4600 block, 12:01 a.m. May 6. A man sexually assaulted a pedestrian.

N ST., 200 block, 8:40 p.m. May 20. A man robbed a person of property at gunpoint in a parking area, then fled.

FIRST ST., 1400 block, 6:45 a.m. May 9. A man grabbed an arm of a female acquaintance sitting in front of a public housing project. He dragged her into a hallway and took property.

SIXTH ST., 1000 block, 9:35 to 10:05 p.m. May 15. A man asked a female pedestrian for the time, then pushed her to the ground. He fled in a vehicle with her purse.
