Groundhog Slips Into a Bedroom

GERMANTOWN, Wacomor Dr., 11000 block, May 18. A groundhog got into a resident's bedroom. A Humane Society driver used a humane animal-catch pole to snare the groundhog, then released it at an appropriate location.

Horses Rounded Up in Street

GAITHERSBURG, Goodstone Dr., 1 to 100 block, May 20. Montgomery County Police called Animal Services for help with three horses running loose in a road, and confined the horses in a fenced area. The horses' owner and an animal services officer corralled the horses into a trailer to transport them home.

Dog Pulled From Car in the Heat

SILVER SPRING, Layhill Rd., 15000 block, May 23. A dog was left inside a car on a hot day at a golf course parking lot. Montgomery County Police called Animal Services and removed the dog. Police could not locate the owner. An animal services officer took the dog, a black mixed hound, to the shelter. The following day, the owner claimed his dog after he received a warning citation and paid $67 in impound fees.
